United Church Homes, a leader in providing exceptional living, healthcare, and services to seniors, is seeking a Director of Maintenance for our Trinity Community at Fairborn location. This vital role is responsible for ensuring the highest standards of facility maintenance, safety, and operational efficiency at our 94 skilled bed and 10 bed assisted living community.
About the Role:
The Director of Maintenance, reporting directly to the community administrator, plays a crucial role in maintaining the integrity, safety, and aesthetics of our community. Responsibilities include overseeing all aspects of building and grounds maintenance, managing maintenance and housekeeping/laundry staff, ensuring compliance with all health and safety regulations, and contributing to the strategic planning and budgeting for community improvements.
Key Responsibilities:
· Lead and manage the environmental team, fostering a culture of excellence, accountability, and continuous improvement.
· Oversee the maintenance and repair of building systems (HVAC, electrical, plumbing), ensuring operational efficiency and safety.
· Develop and implement preventative maintenance plans to minimize downtime and extend the lifespan of facility assets.
· Collaborate with facility leadership to manage maintenance budgets, forecast needs, and prioritize projects.
· Ensure compliance with all local, state, and federal regulations and standards related to health care facility operations.
· Act as a liaison with contractors, vendors, and inspectors to ensure quality services and adherence to specifications.
· Participate in emergency planning and response activities, ensuring the facility's readiness for unforeseen events.
· Oversee housekeeping and laundry
Qualifications:
· Minimum of 5 years’ experience in maintenance management, preferably in a health care or long-term care setting.
· Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
· Proficiency in building systems (HVAC, electrical, plumbing) and general construction.
· Knowledge of health care facility regulations and safety standards.
· Ability to manage multiple priorities and adapt to changing needs.
· Demonstrated problem-solving skills and the ability to work under pressure.
