    POSITION: Full-Time Director of Community Standards: Director; Student Development; Haverhill Campus; 37.5 hours per week; Non-Unit Professional Position

    SUMMARY: The Director of Community Standards serves as the College Student Code of Conduct Administrator and is responsible for the adjudication of potential violations of the Student Code of Conduct. The Director is responsible for developing and implementing a comprehensive educational community standards program. This includes training students, faculty and staff members on community expectations and standards as well as the student disciplinary process. The Director will update the student disciplinary procedures as needed in conjunction with changes to the State Student Conduct policy. Additionally, the Director will provide educational programming in support of the College's commitment to civility, accountability and mutual respect, which promotes the personal growth of our students. The Director will coordinate care and concern reports and connect students to appropriate community resources. This position reports to the Dean of Students.

    RESPONSIBILITIES:

    Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

    • Serve as the primary student Code of Conduct Administrator
    • Coordinate and oversee the resolution of all disciplinary responses to allegations of violations of the Student Code of Conduct as documented in Incident Reports, or by Public Safety Officers, employees, or other referring parties
    • Recruit, train, and advise the College Judicial Board
    • Assist students in understanding their rights and responsibilities as members of the College community
    • Co-chair the Care and Concern Team (CCOT)
    • Coordinate CCOT reports and connect students to appropriate community resources including counseling, access to food resources, housing assistance, and other basic needs
    • Act as Deputy Title IX Coordinator and Affirmative Action Officer designee, serving as lead investigator in complaints of sexual misconduct, sexual harassment, gender-related violence, protected class discrimination and harassment, and related retaliation matters involving students. May also be requested to serve as an Advisor or Decision Maker in investigations, as needed.
    • Maintain statistical and confidential records
    • Manage the creation and maintenance of all student disciplinary records through use of appropriate databases
    • Collaborate with back-up student conduct officer(s) to ensure continuity in the disciplinary process
    • Serve as a liaison to faculty, staff, and community members in response to student conduct matters
    • Participate in the on-call rotation for after-hours student emergencies
    • Serve as the back-up to the Dean of Students in response to student emergencies
    • Maintain awareness of new developments and review current literature in Student Behavior, Title IX, ADA, Wellness and Prevention Education, and Federal, State, and Local laws and policies affecting higher education
    • Develop, assess and facilitate educational programs for students as required by Federal regulations and State law
    • Provide training for faculty and staff on the student disciplinary process
    • Provide educational programming for students, faculty, and staff on expected community standards in an effort to promote civility, accountability, and mutual respect
    • Coordinate continual educational and preventative programs regarding alcohol and drug use and abuse
    • Represent the College and the Dean of Students at off-campus events, meetings, and conferences as assigned

    In collaboration with the Dean of Students:

    • Responsible for the review, revision and dissemination of the Student Handbook, which includes the State Student Code of Conduct policy
    • Conduct the biennial review required by the Drug Free Schools and Communities Act (DFSCA)
    • Assist students facing stressors and other barriers that impede success

    Job Requirements:


    MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

    • Bachelor's degree in appropriate field
    • 2-3 years' experience in student conduct administration such as residence life, student code of conduct/judicial system, or equivalent experience
    • Strong analytical skills and the ability to assess and negotiate complex, highly sensitive situations
    • Working knowledge and understanding of student conduct databases
    • Knowledge of Student Development theory and practice
    • Strong foundation of policies and procedures in accordance with federal and state laws
    • Working knowledge of Title IX and Affirmative Action
    • Successful experience in alternative dispute resolution
    • Understanding of restorative justice practices
    • Understanding of equity within the conduct process
    • Ability to travel between campuses as needed
    • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills

    PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

    • Master's Degree in Student Affairs or related field
    • Experience working at a community college
    • Bilingual (Spanish/English)
    • Experience working with and supporting a culturally diverse population

    BACKGROUND CHECK: Candidates will be required to pass a CORI and SORI check as a condition of employment.

    GRADE AND SALARY:
    Anticipated starting salary is $75,000 - $80,000 annually with complete fringe benefit package including competitive health insurance, dental insurance, basic life insurance, long-term disability insurance, paid sick, vacation and personal leave, educational benefits for employee/spouse/dependents, and excellent retirement benefits.
