Community Health Director is responsible for developing plans for community-based health programs aimed at the prevention of disease and promotion of health. Recommends community health initiatives, policy implications and best practices after reviewing health literature and statistics. Being a Community Health Director identifies community health program related grant funding and develops grant proposals. Manages specific community health programs from planning and design through implementation and evaluation. Additionally, Community Health Director requires a master's degree in a related area. Typically reports to a top management. The Community Health Director manages a departmental sub-function within a broader departmental function. Creates functional strategies and specific objectives for the sub-function and develops budgets/policies/procedures to support the functional infrastructure. To be a Community Health Director typically requires 5+ years of managerial experience. Deep knowledge of the managed sub-function and solid knowledge of the overall departmental function.     Responsibilities: This 12-month, full-time position is responsible for the successful planning, coordination, supervision, and evaluation of the WNCC workforce Health Occupations Training initiatives and for supervising program development, implementation, and ongoing management of the Nursing Assistant (NA), Medication Aide (MA), Medical Assistant, Medical Terminology programs and courses, and other programs and courses as future needs are identified.

    Required Qualifications:

    • Registered Nurse with an unencumbered license in the State of Nebraska.
    • Associate’s degree in nursing.
    • Experience teaching adults.
    • Two years cumulative nursing experience, one of which must be in long-term care.
    • Possession of, or the ability to obtain, an appropriate, valid driver’s license and an acceptable driving record that does not exclude the driver from coverage under WNCC’s vehicle insurance.

    Salary: Pay range begins at $68,000. Increase in starting salary may be given due to education and experience. Excellent benefits.

    Start Date: Negotiable.
