This registered nurse serves in an advanced level of nursing management and leadership involving directing all of the Clinical Services of Wilkes Health that has a variety and complexity of programs. This involves managing programs and personnel on varying levels and in multiple disciplines. This employee spends the majority of time in administrative and supervisory responsibilities, and coordinating services with other health professionals and community groups and organizations. The primary purpose of this position is to plan, organize, and direct all health care service activities with the assistance of the Clinical Services Program Manager who supervises a large staff. This employee is responsible for managing and assigning a variety of students, such as generic nursing students, BSN students, MSN students, medical students, medical office students, etc. The employee has complete accountability for all the administrative, supervisory, and technical components of the clinical programs. The employee must stay abreast of broad social, economic, technical, and programmatic developments, and make recommendations and/or changes to adjust the nursing program to these developments. The employee is involved a great deal with the community in collaboration, marketing, and service to the community. This employee uses a broad nursing background to function in a variety of settings and working with a variety of disciplines as listed below. This employee serves as the privacy officer for the WCHD. An understanding of state and federal laws addressing privacy, security and confidentiality of health information is required in order to carry out the primary purposes of this position. In addition, this employee serves as the Quality Management Director.
Requirements: Master’s in Nursing and three years of Public Health nursing experience (including two years of experience in a supervisory capacity); or graduation from a four-year college or university with a B.S. in Nursing which includes a Public Health Nursing rotation and four years of Public Health nursing experience (including two years of experience in a supervisory capacity); or a Master’s in Public Health and graduation from a school of professional nursing and three years of Public Health Nursing experience (including two years of experience in a supervisory capacity); or graduation from a school of professional nursing and five years of professional nursing experience four of which must have been in Public Health (including two years of experience in a supervisory capacity); or an equivalent combination of training and experience.
