Community Health Director is responsible for developing plans for community-based health programs aimed at the prevention of disease and promotion of health. Recommends community health initiatives, policy implications and best practices after reviewing health literature and statistics. Being a Community Health Director identifies community health program related grant funding and develops grant proposals. Manages specific community health programs from planning and design through implementation and evaluation. Additionally, Community Health Director requires a master's degree in a related area. Typically reports to a top management. The Community Health Director manages a departmental sub-function within a broader departmental function. Creates functional strategies and specific objectives for the sub-function and develops budgets/policies/procedures to support the functional infrastructure. To be a Community Health Director typically requires 5+ years of managerial experience. Deep knowledge of the managed sub-function and solid knowledge of the overall departmental function.     About your Role:
    The Peer Support Specialist (PPS), under the supervision of the Clinical Director or Regional Director, is responsible for providing opportunities for individuals receiving services to direct their own recovery process. The PPS is also responsible for facilitating the development of a sense of wellness and self-worth.
    • Act as a role model to persons in recovery to inspire hope, share life experiences and lessons learned as a person in recovery;
    • Model/mentor recovery process and demonstrate coping skills;
    • Engage individuals who may be at risk and provide stage-appropriate recovery education and supports, e.g., usage of the leveling system and evidence-based practices
    • This position requires travel of approximately 50% of the time.

    Does the Following Apply to You?
    • High School Diploma or GED equivalent
    • Have maintained, within the last three (3) years, at least 12 months of successful full or part time paid or voluntary work experience (not necessarily consecutive) OR
    • One-year post-secondary education experience totaling 24 credit hours
