Community Organizer develops and coordinates social service programs to communicate and raise awareness of services and resources available to the community. Networks with community leaders and officials to raise awareness of specific social or environmental issues. Being a Community Organizer plans and devises action plans to access resources. Organizes community members to work toward a common goal supported by staff and volunteer workers. Additionally, Community Organizer may require a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a supervisor or manager. The Community Organizer work is closely managed. Works on projects/matters of limited complexity in a support role. As a Community Advocate you will help teach daily living skills, provide one-on-one group outings for the individuals in the community as well as monitoring and individual physical and emotional health. You will also assist with everyday tasks such as personal hygiene, household tasks such as cleaning and meal preparation and providing support and training on money management, safety and wellness. The Community Advocate helps provide transportation and assistance to our individuals in support of attendance throughout various activities and programs within the department such as the day program, bowling league, monthly dances and other social interaction activities.

Minimum Requirements:
Must be at least eighteen (18) years of age
High School Diploma or equivalent
Valid, state issued driver’s license and current proof of vehicle insurance.
Can provide a federally issued social security card that matches current legal first and last name.
Must have clean, reliable transportation that has working heat and air.
Some experience in providing direct support to individuals with developmental and/or intellectual disabilities with behaviors is preferred but not required.
