Position Summary
The Outreach Specialist is instrumental in both the intake admission and discharge process. They keep family members and referral sources abreast of the treatment process as permitted by the patient’s consent. The Outreach Specialist acts as an advocate for the patients who may be experiencing both medical and psychiatric problems. They are to establish a therapeutic relationship with the patients and referral sources in maintaining a stable treatment milieu. BCBS Insurance offered. Paid Time Off. Competitive Pay. Required Knowledge, Skills, Licensure, Training & Travel Requirements (if applicable)
Education: Bachelor’s degree required or HS Diploma/GED and a minimum of 4 years of relevant experience in lieu of the bachelor’s degree. A state driving license is required.
Work experience: At least two years’ experience in a psychiatric setting preferred.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities: Must be able to follow directions. Must have the ability to understand the importance of confidentiality of patient information and medical records. Must be able to use Microsoft Word and Excel. Must be able to work well with a team. Must be an exceptional speaker with excellent communication skills and have a compassion for the chronic mentally ill population.
Interpersonal Skills: The position requires a highly motivated individual with outstanding organizational skills. Must be able to communicate well and have excellent customer service skills.
Travel Requirements: Travel is required.
