JOB TITLE: Community Outreach CoordinatorREPORTS TO: General ManagerDRIVING POSITION: YesSUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: NoSUMMARY OF DUTIES:The Community Service Specialist is responsible for developing relationships and scheduling pet visits with schools and non-profits in communities with a company store and within a 50-mile radius of the Athens store.POSITION DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Schedules pet visits with schools and assisted living facilities.
- Teaches groups about different pets and their habitats and needs.
- Organizes donations, silent auction items and care packages as directed.
- Participates in community activities, some evenings, and weekends.
- Performs other related duties as assigned by management.
REQUIRED SKILLS- Animal knowledge
- Strong communication skills
- Ability to work independently\
- Valid drivers license with reliable transportation
REQUIRED EDUCATION AND/OR TRAINING:- High school diploma or general education degree (GED), or one to three months related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORK ENVIORNMENT:- Standing – Frequently required to stand.
- Walking – Frequently required to walk.
- Sitting - Continually required to sit.
- Travelling – Frequently required to travel.
- Finger Dexterity - Continually required to utilize hand and finger dexterity.
- Climb, Bend, Balance, Stoop, Kneel or Crawl - Continually required to climb, balance, bend, stoop, kneel or crawl.
- Talking/Hearing - Frequently required to talk or hear.
- Visual Accuity Frequently utilize visual acuity to operate equipment, read technical information, and/or use a keyboard.
- Lifting/Pushing/Carrying – Not required to lift more than 50 lbs. at a time with frequent lifting, pushing, or carrying of up to 20 lbs.
