COMMUNITY OUTREACH SPECIALIST jobs in Portsmouth, OH

Summary: The individual in this position is responsible for assisting individuals, families and or community partners to navigate and access community services AAA7 provides. This individual will promote available services provided through the Area Agency on Aging District 7, Inc. and be a liaison in the community providing education and support of AAA7 programs and community activities.

Essential Duties and responsibilities:

• Assists Director of Community Outreach in coordinating special events and agency activities.
• Responsible for assisting to maintain ongoing partnerships with local Health Departments, Nursing Facilities, Housing managers and other community partners.
• Provide Outreach at local events supporting agency programs as appropriate.
• Work collaboratively with all agency staff assisting with committees and other community events or networking meetings.
• Responsible to provide consistent communication to the Director of Community Outreach and AAA7 staff as it relates to responsibilities with any assigned grant or Outreach.
• Assist to coordinate events for agency grant activity as needed and plan to attend and participate in those events.
• Responsible to document in specific data systems as appropriate to maintain grant responsibilities and or any other expected data collection necessary.
• Conducts public speaking engagements and informs citizens and groups of available services.

Qualifications Required for Position

• High School Diploma
• Community Health Worker training and certification.
• Written and oral fluency, ability to speak in public settings.
• Experience working in community setting for at least 1-2 years preferred.
• Basic Computer skills
• Understand the Community served, community connectedness.
• Good Communication skills.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $35,400.00 per year
