Function: The Outreach Coordinator champions outreach efforts in the community; while monitoring the Food and Fund Drive inbox, coordinating food and fund drives, and fundraising activities to advance the Community Food Bank’s (CFB’s) mission.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Stewards businesses and community relationships to secure food and fund drives to further CFB’s mission.
- Leads in activities associated with outreach and assist in community engagement activities.
- Oversees and conducts tours, talks, and tabling’s to include scheduling presenters and ensuring all supplies and materials are up-to-date.
- Participates in outreach activities associated with events including public speaking, community communication and other innovative methods.
- Collaborates with volunteer services, operations, marketing, finance, and donor relations staff as needed.
- Oversees in-office volunteers and interns.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Knowledge of outreach and community engagement activities to include public communications.
- Ability to lead various activities associated with outreach and community engagement.
- Ability to create and maintain positive public relations with stakeholders and the community at large.
- Ability to attend night and weekend events as needed.
- Effective time management and organizational skills.
- Strong customer service, communication, and listening skills.
- Ability to work with people from diverse economic, social, and political backgrounds.
Minimum Qualifications:
- A high school diploma or equivalent.
- One (1) year of experience in a fast-paced, complex work environment demonstrating organizational and follow-through skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, Office 365, and aptitude to learn other software platforms.
- For company insurance purposes, at least 21 years of age; possess a current Arizona Driver’s License with a safe driving record.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Two (2) years of experience in a fast-paced, complex work environment demonstrating organizational and follow-through skills.
- Bilingual in English and Spanish.
Physical Requirements (choose one):
- Medium Work – ability to exert 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 10 pounds of force frequently, and/or a negligible amount of force constantly to move objects.
