Community Relations Manager manages programs supporting the corporate strategy designed to promote and represent the organization and brand as a socially responsible force in the community. Being a Community Relations Manager collaborates with internal and external stakeholders to develop clear objectives and deliver meaningful and measurable results. The Community Relations Manager manages subordinate staff in the day-to-day performance of their jobs. True first level manager. To be a Community Relations Manager typically requires 5 years experience in the related area as an individual contributor. 1 - 3 years supervisory experience may be required.     Dion’s is looking to hire a 10 hour/week Community Relations Specialist to join our Marketing Team. This role will be responsible for engaging community members in both El Paso, TX and Las Cruces, NM while working hand-in-hand in collaboration with our Home Office in Albuquerque and other regional team members, and is perfect for someone who is passionate about pizza and serving their community. 


    The ideal candidate for this role is actively engaged in the community, personally or professionally, and finds excitement in building relationships and connections with community partners (including donating money and food!). They should be the ultimate networker and have a passion for working on causes related to youth development. This person should also be detail-oriented and have strong written and verbal communication skills.


    Dion’s is a growing fast casual restaurant chain that operates 28 restaurants in New Mexico, Colorado and Texas. The company is based in New Mexico and employs over 2,000 people. We are a team that is committed to making things happen. We believe in excellence and we love to win together! 


    Primary responsibilities include:

    • Assist with outreach and promotion surrounding the grand opening of Dion’s first location in El Paso, TX 
    • Meet with schools, non-profits and other youth-focused groups and educate them on partnership opportunities, such as in-kind donations, fundraising, educational store tours, grants, and more.
    • Represent Dion’s at business and community functions throughout El Paso and Las Cruces, including Chamber of Commerce luncheons, PTO meetings, and other youth-related events. 
    • Make cash, food, and gift cards donations to non-profit groups and schools.
    • Coordinate store fundraising events for youth-focused groups. 
    • Identify targets and schedule meal donations to introduce our menu to the community.

    We’re looking for someone who:

    • Is well connected in the El Paso and/or Las Cruces community through schools, churches, athletic teams, businesses, non-profits, media outlets and/or government organizations.
    • Will act as a strong, positive public-facing representative of Dion’s.
    • Is outgoing, personable, and articulate. 
    • Is organized and reliable.
    • Creates clear plans and executes effectively.
    • Communicates well verbally and in writing.
    • Is self-motivated and consistently works well under minimal supervision.
    • Has an understanding of marketing and customer service basics.
    • Is proficient with Microsoft Office programs including Outlook and Excel. 
    • Experience in marketing, public relations, sales and/or community relations is a plus. 
    • Bilingual and comfortable speaking and writing in both English and Spanish is also a plus.

    Due to the nature of this position, some evening and weekend work may be required. 


    This position is non-exempt and compensation will be determined based on experience. A valid driver’s license or ability to travel to community events and meetings, the Dion’s locations in El Paso, TX and Las Cruces, NM, and occasionally the Dion’s Home Office in Albuquerque, NM is required.  Mileage will be reimbursed.
