Community Relations Manager manages programs supporting the corporate strategy designed to promote and represent the organization and brand as a socially responsible force in the community. Creates and plans outreach programs that engage, support, and partner with the community and produce a positive impact to address local issues. Being a Community Relations Manager collaborates with internal and external stakeholders to develop clear objectives and deliver meaningful and measurable results. Supports community relations programs' entire life cycle, including coordinating events, managing volunteers, and executing grant proposals. Additionally, Community Relations Manager requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a head of a unit/department. The Community Relations Manager manages subordinate staff in the day-to-day performance of their jobs. True first level manager. Ensures that project/department milestones/goals are met and adhering to approved budgets. Has full authority for personnel actions. To be a Community Relations Manager typically requires 5 years experience in the related area as an individual contributor. 1 - 3 years supervisory experience may be required.   • Location: Bryan/College Station, TX Position Type: Regular Full Time       About this opportunity: Plans, supervises, directs, monitors and evaluates all public relations and community relations functions for the Corps which include: Donor Services, Public Relations, Community and Corporate Relations; ensures that The Salvation Army maintains a favorable and positive image in the community; serves as liaison to media ensuring the desired message is communicated; takes photographs and writes articles covering The Salvation Army events in Corps; participates in coordinating, promoting and executing special events; recruits volunteers and coordinates volunteer activities; performs public speaking to promote awareness and support for The Salvation Army programs.   Key responsibilities: Public Relations Responsibilities (40%) Social Media and Website Responsibilities (20%) Event Coordination Responsibilities (20%) Volunteer Coordination Responsibilities (10%) Liaison Responsibilities (10%)   What we are looking for in you:   Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university public relations, marketing, business administration, or related field and Three years’ experience coordinating public relations, special events, and/or media relations, Or Any equivalent combination of training and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities.   Valid State Drivers License   Physical Requirements and Working Conditions:   Ability to meet attendance requirements. Ability to read, write and communicate the English language effectively. Ability to speak before large groups in person, by radio and television. Ability to travel to various locations in order to participate in public meetings, conferences, etc. Ability and willingness to conduct all duties in accordance with the ministry of the organization and its Christian principles; conducts all communications and job duties with the highest level of professionalism. Duties are usually performed seated.  Sitting may be relieved by brief or occasional periods of standing or walking. Limited amount of physical effort required associated with walking, standing, lifting and carrying light objects (less than 25 lbs.) frequently.
