Compensation Director is responsible for the design, implementation, and ongoing evaluation of the organization's compensation programs, including base pay, incentive pay, and performance management programs. Leads the compensation function and works with senior management to ensure that compensation strategy and programs support the organization's business objectives, meet all legal requirements, and deliver value and equitable pay. Being a Compensation Director develops compensation budget for assigned areas and manages budget after it is approved. Establishes data collection and analysis processes for market, pay equity, and other compensation studies. Additionally, Compensation Director may be responsible for entire organization or for one or more major segments of a larger organization. Requires a bachelor's degree. May require a Certified Compensation Professional (CCP) certification. Typically reports to a head of a unit/department. The Compensation Director typically manages through subordinate managers and professionals in larger groups of moderate complexity. Provides input to strategic decisions that affect the functional area of responsibility. May give input into developing the budget. To be a Compensation Director typically requires 3+ years of managerial experience. Capable of resolving escalated issues arising from operations and requiring coordination with other departments. Our Compensation Team, within Total Rewards, is responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining salary and incentive programs which further Prudential’s strategic goals through attractive, flexible, and market-based total compensation. What you can expect: • Responsible for the creation of materials for the Compensation and Human Capital Committee, ensuring timeliness and accuracy ahead of each meeting and optimizing the processes for creating pertinent analyses, exhibits, memos, and resolutions • Serve as a subject matter expert, providing consultative guidance on executive compensation, governance, proxy advisor, and other related matters, especially as it pertains to ESG, SEC regulations, trends, and developments • Lead preparation and validate accuracy of the Compensation Disclosure & Analysis, CEO Pay Ratio, and Pay Versus Performance disclosures within Prudential’s annual proxy statement • Utilize industry and peer research to influence decisions on incentive program design while facilitating efforts to improve employee understanding of cash and equity incentive plans at Prudential • Ensure executive market benchmarking is based on robust and reliable data leading to thoughtful guidance for pay decisions • Prepare analyses and presentations and clearly explain complex information to the Executive Leadership Team and non-technical audiences • Assist with Compensation activities required for both the Year End and cyclical processes, guiding the organization to follow best practices on compensation fundamentals such as pay for performance differentiation and incentive plan design What you’ll need: • 5 years of compensation experience • 2 years of executive compensation experience • Proficiency with sophisticated functions and capabilities in Microsoft Excel and office software, coupled with the ability to articulate insights gleaned from deep analysis of large volumes of data • Detail-oriented mentality to catch and resolve errors via QA and anticipate and prevent misinterpretations of nuanced concepts • Conceptualizes ideal ways to collect, store, assess, and present data while thinking differently and bringing ideas forward • Proven track record of forming strong partnerships and influencing key stakeholders It’d be a plus if you had: • Financial Services experience • CompAnalyst, Cognos, Equilar, JDXpert, or Workday experience • Compensation consulting firm, stock plan administration, international compensation or compensation consulting firm experience • Experience in model development • Experience writing macros We know not everyone will meet 100% of the requirements, however we encourage you to apply if you think your skills are a good fit.
