Compensation Director is responsible for the design, implementation, and ongoing evaluation of the organization's compensation programs, including base pay, incentive pay, and performance management programs. Leads the compensation function and works with senior management to ensure that compensation strategy and programs support the organization's business objectives, meet all legal requirements, and deliver value and equitable pay. Being a Compensation Director develops compensation budget for assigned areas and manages budget after it is approved. Establishes data collection and analysis processes for market, pay equity, and other compensation studies. Additionally, Compensation Director may be responsible for entire organization or for one or more major segments of a larger organization. Requires a bachelor's degree. May require a Certified Compensation Professional (CCP) certification. Typically reports to a head of a unit/department. The Compensation Director typically manages through subordinate managers and professionals in larger groups of moderate complexity. Provides input to strategic decisions that affect the functional area of responsibility. May give input into developing the budget. To be a Compensation Director typically requires 3+ years of managerial experience. Capable of resolving escalated issues arising from operations and requiring coordination with other departments.     Hiring Department: College of Business Administration - Dean's Office

    Hours: up to 40 hours per week, standard Monday- Friday 8:00am- 5:00pm, flexibility is required on evenings and weekends

    FLSA status: Exempt.

    Purpose of Position

    Summary: The Director of the Undergraduate Advising Office plays a pivotal role in ensuring the academic success and well-being of undergraduate students. This leadership position oversees the daily operations of the advising office, supervises staff, and collaborates with faculty and departments to develop and implement a comprehensive advising program. The ideal candidate will be a passionate advocate for student success with a strong commitment to academic excellence and a collaborative approach.

    Essential Functions

    Provide leadership and vision for the Undergraduate Advising Office, setting strategic goals and objectives aligned with the institution's mission and student success initiatives.

    Develop, implement, and assess advising policies and procedures, ensuring best practices are followed to support student progress towards graduation.

    Oversee the day-to-day operations of the advising office, including scheduling, resource allocation, and staff development.

    Recruit, hire, supervise, train, and mentor a team of professional advisors, fostering a positive and productive work environment.

    Collaborate with faculty advisors, academic departments, and other student support services to ensure a seamless advising experience for students.

    Analyze academic data and student success metrics to identify trends and develop strategies for improvement.

    Maintain a deep understanding of university policies, procedures, and academic degree requirements.

    Prepare and manage the advising office budget.

    Responsible for completing and ensuring the accuracy and integrity of the Graduation Official list each semester.

    Work with Department Chairs regarding course evaluations and equivalencies.

    Oversee the College orientations for undergraduate students.

    Support the Enrollment Services office with recruitment efforts for high school students.

    Stay abreast of current trends and best practices in higher education advising.

    Develop and maintain strong relationships with faculty, staff, and external stakeholders.

    Advocate for student needs and represent the advising office in various campus committees.

    Knowledge of all Microsoft Office software and able to learn and use institutional software systems.

    Be proficient in Banner, the university's student information system.

    Complies with all State and University policies.

    Occasional traveling is required.

    Other duties may be assigned.

    Supervisory Responsibilities Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's objectives, policies, and applicable laws.

    Qualifications

    To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.

    Required Qualifications:

    Education: Bachelor's degree in a relevant field.

    Experience: Three to five years of experience in academic advising or a related field. Excellent communication, interpersonal, and collaborative skills.

    Preferred Qualifications:

    Education: Master's degree in a relevant field.

    Experience: Three to five years of supervisory experience.
