Compensation Director is responsible for the design, implementation, and ongoing evaluation of the organization's compensation programs, including base pay, incentive pay, and performance management programs. Leads the compensation function and works with senior management to ensure that compensation strategy and programs support the organization's business objectives, meet all legal requirements, and deliver value and equitable pay. Being a Compensation Director develops compensation budget for assigned areas and manages budget after it is approved. Establishes data collection and analysis processes for market, pay equity, and other compensation studies. Additionally, Compensation Director may be responsible for entire organization or for one or more major segments of a larger organization. Requires a bachelor's degree. May require a Certified Compensation Professional (CCP) certification. Typically reports to a head of a unit/department. The Compensation Director typically manages through subordinate managers and professionals in larger groups of moderate complexity. Provides input to strategic decisions that affect the functional area of responsibility. May give input into developing the budget. To be a Compensation Director typically requires 3+ years of managerial experience. Capable of resolving escalated issues arising from operations and requiring coordination with other departments.     POSITION SUMMARY:

    Compensation Analyst analyzes, develops and implements a base pay system. Reviews facility compensation policies to establish competitive rates designed to attract and retain employees. Prepare audits program for legal compliance and ensures internal equity. Conducts cost analysis and compares market trends to make recommendations to the overall wage and salary program for market adjustments.

    POSITION EDUCATION/ QUALIFICATIONS:

    • Bachelor’s Degree in Information Technology, Human Resources Management, Business Administration, or related field required
    • 3 years of experience working in the human resources field, including HR analytics
    • 3-5 years of relevant compensation experience preferred
    • Advanced computer skills required with proficiency of Microsoft Office suite
    • Healthcare experience preferred
    • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills required
    • Excellent interpersonal and technical support skills
    • Bilingual: English/Spanish preferred

    JOB KNOWLEDGE/EXPERIENCE:

    • Capacity to apply discretion and maintain a high level of confidentiality when handling sensitive information
    • Ability to develop and manage interpersonal relationships at all levels of the company
    • Must be proficient and have advance Excel skills
    • Proficient with compensation research and data analysis

    Responsibilities:

    • POSITION RESPONSIBILITES:
    • Compile TSHHRAE Salary Wage data and metrics for compensation analysis.
    • Works closely with Human Resources to maintain and analyze job descriptions and makes recommendations for appropriate wage salary grade placement.
    • Audits data to ensure compliance with job codes, employment/exemption status.
    • Plans, conducts and participates in salary surveys to analyze data to determine market competitiveness.
    • Assists with compiling Staffing and Finance committee reports for compensation recommendations.
    • Generates reports/queries, including writing, maintaining, and supporting a variety of reports or queries utilizing appropriate reporting tools.
    • Manage projects and process improvement between Human Resources and Labor Management.
    • Uses data to build project plans and ensure adherence to schedule and other specifications.
    • Utilizes interpersonal skills when working with various customers and peers to accomplish project goals.
    • Collaborates with functional and technical staff to coordinate the application of upgrade or current system(s).
    • Administers the annual market review process for wage analysis recommendations.
    • Provide and develops analytical support and data analysis on a variety of compensation requests and projects.
    • Supports Labor Management processes with data and statistics for trends and patterns.
    • Analyze practices and make recommendations to management.
    • Prepare reports of data results and present findings to management.
    • Facilitate implementation of related initiatives.
    • Contribute to system decision-making, scoping and arranging labor management system projects in support of the overall labor management strategy.
    • Creates compensation statistics
    • Provide analytical support and data analysis on projects and Human Resource metrics
    • Collaborate with Human Resources on the statues of issues and concerns
    • Assist Human Resources with special projects as requested
    • Competencies required for this include strong attention to detail and a strong drive to use data to answer business questions.

    B. Working Conditions: The individual spends over 95% of his/her time in an air-conditioned environment with varying exposures to noise. There is protection from weather conditions but not necessarily from temperature changes. The position does have low exposure to malodorous, infectious body fluids from patients, and some minimal exposure to noxious smells from cleansing agents.

    C. Occupational Exposure: This position has minimal to no exposure to blood, body fluids, or tissues and is an OSHA Category III (although situations can be imagined or hypothesized under which anyone, anywhere, might encounter potential exposure to body fluids). The person who performs these duties is not called upon as part of their employment to perform or assist in emergency medical care or first aid or to be potentially exposed in some other way.
