Compensation Manager leads the development, implementation, and administration of compensation programs, policies, and procedures. Manages common compensation functions, including survey participation, job evaluation, salary structure development, incentive plan design, pay program administration and other associated initiatives. Being a Compensation Manager ensures that base pay, incentive pay and performance management programs remain competitive and conform to current compensation strategy. Directs data collection and analysis processes for market, pay equity, and other compensation studies. Additionally, Compensation Manager requires a bachelor's degree. May require a Certified Compensation Professional (CCP) certification. Typically reports to a head of a unit/department. The Compensation Manager manages subordinate staff in the day-to-day performance of their jobs. True first level manager. Ensures that project/department milestones/goals are met and adhering to approved budgets. Has full authority for personnel actions. To be a Compensation Manager typically requires 5 years experience in the related area as an individual contributor. 1 - 3 years supervisory experience may be required. JOB SUMMARY
This position supports the organization in the areas of salary and benefits administration with additional responsibility for producing HRIS analytics and optimizing system and procedural capabilities. As a member of the Talent Management team, this position will also partner with leaders and employees on performance and development needs and employee relations issues.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
QUALIFICATIONS
Associate or Bachelor’s degree, preferred; Minimum of three (3) years of relevant HR work experience is required; intermediate experience in benefits administration, and human resource software and reporting functions (HRIS) is required
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
Knowledge of general office clerical procedures; demonstrated ability to effectively communicate both verbally and in writing using proper grammar and spelling; strong computer skills with expertise in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint; demonstrated interpersonal skills with the ability to manage sensitive and confidential situations with tact, professionalism, and diplomacy; excellent organizational and administrative skills; ability to regularly exercise sound judgment; ability to maintain professional working relationships with staff, community, and regulatory officials; ability to maintain high performance and composure under pressure, opposition, or criticism
