Compensation Manager leads the development, implementation, and administration of compensation programs, policies, and procedures. Manages common compensation functions, including survey participation, job evaluation, salary structure development, incentive plan design, pay program administration and other associated initiatives. Being a Compensation Manager ensures that base pay, incentive pay and performance management programs remain competitive and conform to current compensation strategy. Directs data collection and analysis processes for market, pay equity, and other compensation studies. Additionally, Compensation Manager requires a bachelor's degree. May require a Certified Compensation Professional (CCP) certification. Typically reports to a head of a unit/department. The Compensation Manager manages subordinate staff in the day-to-day performance of their jobs. True first level manager. Ensures that project/department milestones/goals are met and adhering to approved budgets. Has full authority for personnel actions. To be a Compensation Manager typically requires 5 years experience in the related area as an individual contributor. 1 - 3 years supervisory experience may be required.     Foot Locker, Inc., the world's leading retailer of athletically inspired shoes and apparel, is seeking a Compensation Manager. The Compensation Manager leads the development, implementation and evaluation of compensation programs for Foot Locker’s team members globally. The Compensation Manager is responsible for the planning and management of global non-store compensation processes such as annual compensation planning and bonus. In addition, the Compensation Manager leads efforts to maintain our global salary structures and compensation programs competitive and attractive.

     

    The mission of the Global Total Rewards team is to design and deliver market-competitive total rewards programs that support Foot Locker’s Talent Strategy. The Team is responsible for the design, implementation and execution of Foot Locker’s global compensation and benefits programs as well as the HRIS platforms used within the organization.

    Responsibilities

    • Collaborate with the Global Total Rewards team to support Foot Locker's Talent Strategy by designing and delivering market-competitive Compensation programs.
      • Maintain and ensure the competitiveness of global salary structures and compensation programs.
      • Monitor the effectiveness of existing compensation programs, guidelines, and procedures, recommending revisions or new plans as needed.
    • Manage global non-store compensation processes, including annual compensation planning and bonus programs.
      • Lead the annual merit and bonus review process to ensure timely completion of year-end deliverables, including system setup, HR Business Partner training, consulting on recommendations, and providing analytics.
      • Develop recommendations for annual salary review policies, such as merit matrices, budgets, and equity adjustments.
      • Calculate bonuses for the global non-store population, working closely with HR and Finance for spending forecasts.
    • Provide counsel to HR partners on compensation-related activities.
      • Conduct leveling, market research and benchmarking activities, ensuring market competitiveness and trends through job evaluation, data analytics, and job pricing.
      • Advise on new hire offers, promotions, and transfers.
    • Manage various projects, including survey participation, internal equity analysis, global salary structure reviews, and incentive program evaluations.
    • Support the professional development of junior team members.

    Qualifications

    • Degree in Human Resources, Business Administration or related discipline, CCP is a plus
    • Minimum of 5 years of experience in compensation roles of increasing responsibility in a public company
    • Familiarity with job evaluation methodologies
    • Strong project management skills and ability to work across functions and geographies
    • Highly developed analytical skills with ability to interpret, bring insights and apply judgement
    • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills required, knowledge of SuccessFactors or PeopleSoft HRMS is a plus
    • High standards of quality and accuracy
    • High standards of ethics and discretion

    Benefits

    The annual base salary range is $90000 - $116000 / year. This range represents the anticipated low and high end of the salary for this position. This role is also eligible to receive short term incentives that align with individual and company performance. Salary will be determined by the education, experience, knowledge, skills and abilities of the applicant, internal equity, and alignment with market data. Salary is one component of the Foot Locker, Inc. total compensation package, which includes the below:
