Compensation and Benefits Director manages the design, implementation, administration, communication, and ongoing evaluation of the organization's compensation and benefits programs, policies, and procedures. Ensures that compensation and benefits programs support the organization's business objectives and meet all legal requirements. Being a Compensation and Benefits Director develops and manages compensation and benefits budgets. Oversees compensation processes, including survey participation, job evaluation, salary structure development, base pay administration, incentive plan design and analysis. Additionally, Compensation and Benefits Director manages benefits planning and programs including health and welfare, retirement, and work life. May select and manage outsourced providers. Requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to top management. The Compensation and Benefits Director typically manages through subordinate managers and professionals in larger groups of moderate complexity. Provides input to strategic decisions that affect the functional area of responsibility. May give input into developing the budget. To be a Compensation and Benefits Director typically requires 3+ years of managerial experience. JOB SUMMARY
This position supports the organization in the areas of salary and benefits administration with additional responsibility for producing HRIS analytics and optimizing system and procedural capabilities. As a member of the Talent Management team, this position will also partner with leaders and employees on performance and development needs and employee relations issues.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
QUALIFICATIONS
Associate or Bachelor’s degree, preferred; Minimum of three (3) years of relevant HR work experience is required; intermediate experience in benefits administration, and human resource software and reporting functions (HRIS) is required
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
Knowledge of general office clerical procedures; demonstrated ability to effectively communicate both verbally and in writing using proper grammar and spelling; strong computer skills with expertise in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint; demonstrated interpersonal skills with the ability to manage sensitive and confidential situations with tact, professionalism, and diplomacy; excellent organizational and administrative skills; ability to regularly exercise sound judgment; ability to maintain professional working relationships with staff, community, and regulatory officials; ability to maintain high performance and composure under pressure, opposition, or criticism
