Compensation and Benefits Director manages the design, implementation, administration, communication, and ongoing evaluation of the organization's compensation and benefits programs, policies, and procedures. Ensures that compensation and benefits programs support the organization's business objectives and meet all legal requirements. Being a Compensation and Benefits Director develops and manages compensation and benefits budgets. Oversees compensation processes, including survey participation, job evaluation, salary structure development, base pay administration, incentive plan design and analysis. Additionally, Compensation and Benefits Director manages benefits planning and programs including health and welfare, retirement, and work life. May select and manage outsourced providers. Requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to top management. The Compensation and Benefits Director typically manages through subordinate managers and professionals in larger groups of moderate complexity. Provides input to strategic decisions that affect the functional area of responsibility. May give input into developing the budget. To be a Compensation and Benefits Director typically requires 3+ years of managerial experience.     Koley Jessen is seeking to hire an experienced attorney to join the Executive Compensation/Benefits Practice Area in the Firm’s Employment, Labor and Benefits Department. In this role, you will have the opportunity to work with a diverse and sophisticated group of clients and colleagues on executive compensation, tax and employee benefit matters for business clients and individuals located throughout the United States. Working alongside a team of expert attorneys, you will be involved in the design and implementation of various executive and employee incentive arrangements to meet the specific requirements of our many clients, including those involved in complex mergers and acquisitions.

    What you need:

    • A minimum of two years relevant experience in executive compensation and employee benefits law specifically related to deferred compensation and equity incentive programs;
    • Applicants must currently be licensed, or currently eligible to become licensed, to practice law in Nebraska;
    • Excellent academic and professional credentials; and
    • Experience advising clients on employee benefit issues in ERISA compliance and employee benefit programs more generally, including executive compensation, non-qualified deferred compensation (409A and 457), and equity plans (equity ownership plans, stock option plans, and alternative equity ownership plans).
