Compensation and Benefits Director manages the design, implementation, administration, communication, and ongoing evaluation of the organization's compensation and benefits programs, policies, and procedures.   • General Duties & Responsibilities:

    • The Benefits and Compensation Coordinator oversee wage and non-wage programs that the organization provides to its employees in return for their work
    • Ensure that the organization’s pay practices comply with federal and state laws and regulations, such as equal pay laws, minimum wage, overtime, and workers’ compensation
    • Work closely with the People Team, administer an organization’s compensation programs that are supplemental to wages, including retirement plans, leave policies, wellness programs, and insurance plans
    • Determine employee benefit practices by benchmarking best practices, researching industry and employment trends, and tracking legislation
    • Work closely with the corporate Business Department and insurance brokers and benefits carriers and manage the enrollment, delivery of benefits, and renewal to the organization’s employees
    • Manage third party contracts, highlighting areas of improvement and working with them to manage situations, issues, risks, etc.
    • Provide information about compensation and benefits in a way that is understandable to employees at all levels throughout their organization
    • Identify areas for improvement and takes initiative to implement changes that increase benefits program and payroll effectiveness in alignment with the Company’s strategic goals
    • Be adaptable to constant change, be able to function effectively under stress and provide insightful guidance to the team to assist during their times of stress and ensure execution
    • Foster open communication with the staff, develop a strong sense of teamwork, build talent and lead the company to excellence

    Benefits Duties and Responsibilities:

    • Research, analyze, and then recommend benefits plans, policies, and programs.
    • Frequently monitor government regulations, legislation, and benefits trends to ensure that their programs are current, legal, and competitive
    • Determine employee benefit interests by conducting employee surveys, forming focus groups, and analyzing responses
    • Evaluate proposed employee benefit contracts by studying provisions and estimating impact
    • Recommend development and revision of employee benefit programs by examining, evaluating, and optimizing employee understanding, acceptance, and interests, costs, regulatory requirements, and competitive advantage
    • Explain employee benefits by conducting meetings, preparing written and graphic announcements, presentations, and explanations, and responding to requests for information
    • Provide management planning and control information by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing employee benefit data and trends
    • Maintain employee confidence by keeping benefit information confidential.
    • Update job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities, reading professional publications, maintaining personal networks, and participating in professional organizations.
    • Collaborate with other members of HR team to drive recruitment and retention strategies through the deployment of benefits programs that adhere to best practices and ensure company’s competitive position in talent acquisition with the industry

    Compensation Duties and Responsibilities:

    • Management of banking processing for payroll
    • Maintain production records, timesheets, and the payroll system
    • Manage the bi-monthly or bi-weekly payroll process to ensure all employees are paid on time and in accordance with current tax and other regulations
    • Audit payroll in a timely fashion to ensure accuracy before transmission
    • Input data from time sheets, production records, and/or individual time cards to computerized payroll system
    • Prepare and reconcile monthly General Ledger wages journals
    • Prepare payroll reports as needed for ad-hoc purposes and corresponding general ledger input
    • Review, analyze and check payroll reports for accuracy and make necessary adjustments or corrections through journal entries or other established procedures
    • Evaluate position descriptions to advise and determine details such as classification and salary
    • Utilize the payroll reports, encourage best practice within the team at all times, with the goal to maximize efficiency and ensure consistency

    Requirements & Qualifications

    • A high level understanding of payroll/compensation and benefits software programs and and systems and how they interface; including but not limited to ADP, PayCom, TalentPro, or similar compensation and benefits human resources software
    • Knowledge of Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA) and Employee Retirement Income Security Act (ERISA) regulations, and other applicable federal, state, and local laws governing compensation
    • Knowledge of 7Shifts Scheduling or similar employee scheduling software
    • Excellent computer skills, including Microsoft Office software (especially Excel)
    • Ability to develop strong relationships with the corporate finance team
    • Ability to develop strong relationships with third party vendors and contractors
    • Effectively prioritize tasks to meet deadlines
    • Proven ability to develop payroll processes and procedures
    • A comprehensive understanding of the Affordable Care Act preferred

    Education and Experience:

    • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Human Resources or a related field, or combination of education and experience
    • Three or more years of experience that includes payroll/compensation analysis, benefits administration, or general human resources work
    • Experience in finance, human resources, or business administration preferred

    Job Type: Full-time

    Pay: $58,000.00 - $70,000.00 per year
