Compensation and Benefits Manager manages the design, implementation, administration, communication, and ongoing evaluation of the organization's compensation and benefits programs, policies, and procedures. Ensures that compensation and benefits programs support the organization's business objectives and meet all legal requirements. Being a Compensation and Benefits Manager develops and manages compensation and benefits budgets. Oversees compensation processes, including survey participation, job evaluation, salary structure development, base pay administration, incentive plan design and analysis. Additionally, Compensation and Benefits Manager manages benefits planning and programs including health and welfare, retirement, and work life. May select and manage outsourced providers. Requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a head of a unit/department. The Compensation and Benefits Manager manages subordinate staff in the day-to-day performance of their jobs. True first level manager. Ensures that project/department milestones/goals are met and adhering to approved budgets. Has full authority for personnel actions. To be a Compensation and Benefits Manager typically requires 5 years experience in the related area as an individual contributor. 1 - 3 years supervisory experience may be required.   • Role Description: As a member of the Zoetis Total Rewards team, the Compensation Manager supports the development, implementation, and administration of compensation programs, practices and procedures. Manages common compensation functions, including survey participation, job evaluation, salary structure development and other associated initiatives. This position directs data collection and analysis processes for market, pay equity and other compensation studies. In addition, will work on compensation projects and support M&A activities. Responsibilities: Plan, coordinate, direct compensation programs such as the annual compensation cycle, global salary surveys, global salary structures, job evaluations and other ad hoc compensation projects. Partners and consults with HR and Managers on offers and job leveling. Serves as a consultant to HR Business Partners and managers on compensation philosophy and processes, as well as the administration of individual colleague pay. Keeps abreast of compensation and benefits best practices and industry trends and ensures all compensation programs meet those standards Complying with federal, state and local compensation laws, such as minimum wage regulations Acquisition integration: Assists in due diligence and post-merger integration for any acquisitions to ensure appropriate steps and processes with the utmost confidentiality Partners with finance, legal, and global payroll teams on compensation related matters. Education and Experience: Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Finance, Accounting or business-related field 5- 10 years prior experience in a compensation department within a large multinational corporation Certified Compensation Professional (CCP) certification, or currently in pursuit of designation, preferred Strong knowledge of compensation programs and laws including base pay and variable pay Must be a strategic thinker and problem-solver, and able to operate in a highly fluid, complex and global environment that requires adaptability, decisiveness and an ability to effectively work with and across all levels of the business and in a matrix environment Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities at a brisk pace and flexibility to meet business needs Demonstrated strong analytical, math, and negotiation skills; ability to successfully perform independent in-depth analysis and present findings Strong organizational agility and demonstrated ability to influence and effectively coach and work as a credible partner at different organizational levels. Attentive to detail and follow-up; deadline oriented; strong ability to prioritize and multi-task.
