Compensation and Benefits Manager manages the design, implementation, administration, communication, and ongoing evaluation of the organization's compensation and benefits programs, policies, and procedures. Ensures that compensation and benefits programs support the organization's business objectives and meet all legal requirements. Being a Compensation and Benefits Manager develops and manages compensation and benefits budgets. Oversees compensation processes, including survey participation, job evaluation, salary structure development, base pay administration, incentive plan design and analysis. Additionally, Compensation and Benefits Manager manages benefits planning and programs including health and welfare, retirement, and work life. May select and manage outsourced providers. Requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a head of a unit/department. The Compensation and Benefits Manager manages subordinate staff in the day-to-day performance of their jobs. Provides administrative assistance and support on a variety of Human Resources initiatives and projects, with a focus on data and compensation. Acts as a Human Resources liaison to employees and management. Troubleshoots and resolves various human resources issues using current policies, plan documents and departmental guidelines.
- Require an Associate Degree in Business or related field. Relevant experience in Human Resources or Human Resources Information Systems may substitute on a year for year basis for the required degree.
- Require one (1) year of recent related experience, preferably in Human Resources with a similarly sized healthcare institution. A Bachelor's degree in related field can be considered in lieu of experience requirement on a year-for-year basis.
- Prefer demonstrated experience with Human Resources systems (PeopleSoft, Oracle, Lawson, etc.).
- Prefer demonstrated experience with Time and Attendance systems (API, Kronos, etc.).
- Prefer excellent organizational skills and ability to prioritize time to meet deadlines.
- Prefer ability to communicate effectively with all levels of staff, possess strong customer service, conflict resolution, and service recovery skills.
- Prefer strong analytical skills.
- Prefer ability to exercise sound discretionary judgment and effective decision-making and problem-solving skills.
