Compensation and Benefits Supervisor leads a team in developing, implementing, communicating, and administering compensation and benefits programs, policies, and procedures. Supervises daily compensation and benefit operations including survey participation, job evaluation, salary structure development, base pay administration, incentive plan design and analysis, planning for health and welfare, retirement, and work life benefits. Being a Compensation and Benefits Supervisor coordinates with outsourced providers. May provide customer support to managers and staff with compensation or benefits questions. Additionally, Compensation and Benefits Supervisor may require a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a manager or head of a unit/department. The Compensation and Benefits Supervisor supervises a group of primarily para-professional level staffs. May also be a level above a supervisor within high volume administrative/ production environments. Makes day-to-day decisions within or for a group/small department. Has some authority for personnel actions. To be a Compensation and Benefits Supervisor typically requires 3-5 years experience in the related area as an individual contributor. The Patients Account / Benefits Supervisor is responsible for supervising a small team of paraprofessionals. The Patient Accounts /Benefits Supervisor contributes to the development of processes and procedures to enhance revenue production. The Patient Accounts /Benefits Supervisor will be responsible for monitoring financials being completed, ensuring complete continuity of accuracy, staff productivity, and efficiency in the flow of accounts. The supervisor will work closely with the billing staff to ensure patient accounts are updated as necessary to reflect insurance changes and will assist the billing staff with any reimbursement issues. The Patient Accounts/Benefits Supervisor will also perform claims processing and reimbursement tasks. Which include but are not limited to determining eligibility, rates, maintenance of accounts and collection of charges for the support, maintenance and treatment furnished to clients and/or persons responsible for clients. Performs other duties required as the Medicaid Administrative Claiming Coordinator. (Medicaid Administrative Claiming duties are supervised by the Chief Financial Officer.) Other duties include conducting financial consumer assessments; assembly and filing of information required by the Social Security application; monitoring Social Security applications and appeals process; maintaining close follow-up with consumers’ Social Security Administration; and other involved service providers as necessary.
The Patient Accounts /Benefits Supervisor ensures that Audit Files are established, current, and maintained by conducting periodic audits. The supervisor will also be responsible for developing guidelines for establishing and maintaining supporting documentation and agency-wide Audit Files that are consistent with procedures outlined by TDMHMR.
