Competitive Pricing Manager assists with the pricing analysis of revenue, market share, capacity, and competitor activity to provide pricing for products, geographies, and market segments aligned with products and sales strategy. Conducts market research and intelligence gathering and recommends pricing targets. Being a Competitive Pricing Manager maintains competitive pricing databases to monitor changes in the marketplace and their impact on new and existing products. Performs analyses to test customer price sensitivity and elasticity. Additionally, Competitive Pricing Manager typically requires a bachelor's degree in business or related discipline. Typically reports to a manager. The Competitive Pricing Manager supervises a group of primarily para-professional level staffs. May also be a level above a supervisor within high volume administrative/ production environments. Makes day-to-day decisions within or for a group/small department. Has some authority for personnel actions. To be a Competitive Pricing Manager typically requires 3-5 years experience in the related area as an individual contributor.     Summary

    The Pricing Manager is directly responsible for the development, delivery and execution of business unit standards, policies and best practices around pricing that are aligned to our Growth Transformation Office (GTO), go-to-market and brand strategies. The Pricing Manager will work closely with Director of Product Management-PT, Product Line Managers, Product Marketing and Sales teams to provide predictive analysis and recommendations to objectively guide and influence price strategy. The Pricing Manager reports to the Director of Product Management - Power Transmission.

    Primary Duties and Responsibilities

    • Develop pricing strategy that aligns with go-to-market strategy and work collaboratively with business and sales leaders.
    • Analyze strategy for pricing, simplify and create a sustainable process.
    • Conduct quantitative analyses of business data affecting pricing strategy and attainment.
    • Inform pricing decisions by analyzing business data and forecasting business or economic conditions.
    • Recommend pricing actions and timing to areas of responsibility across the company.
    • Present oral and written reports on various elements of pricing strategy, recommendations, and performance.
    • Utilize various business intelligence and analytical software, databases, and ERP.
    • Demonstrate strategic thought leadership in developing new quantitative, qualitative pricing guidelines using statistical techniques.
    • Drive culture of pricing excellence by connecting and reviewing price leakage and opportunities for improvement with business unit stakeholders.
    • Drive actions to achieve overall pricing goals.
    • Act as subject matter expert for assigned areas of the organization on pricing strategies and present price strategies and tactics to stakeholders in a variety of organizational settings.
    • Drive transformational performance improvement in pricing, focused on maximizing value of products and services.

    Primary Duties and Responsibilities cont.

    • Manage and guide critical pricing processes including the annual price update and engage in contracts and project proposals.
    • Apply mathematical models to determine value and recommend pricing for new product releases.
    • Support business and commercial team in developing solutions for product bundling, promotions, and discounts.
    • Recommend policies, systems, and processes to effectively manage price deployment.
    • Drive accountability and adherence to pricing policies and process across the organization.
    • Recommend pricing and discounting analytics and reporting to support business and commercial organizations.
    • Drive regional global initiatives designed to meet corporate and divisional pricing goals and objectives.
    • Provide pricing guidance for customer or program-specific pricing contracts.
    • Provide strategic and analytical leadership to strategic pricing team members as the team conducts analyses and develops recommendations for enhanced price levels, polices, and processes.
    • Other projects and duties as assigned.

    Knowledge and Skill Requirements

    • Minimum of 10 years of previous relevant business experience and/or 10-12 years’ experience combined with a college degree
    • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Mathematics, Operations, Analytics, or related field of study plus business, finance, data analysis, programming, or related experience, including strategic pricing experience.
    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
    • Strong computer skills and experience with working knowledge of Windows-based software and CRM, excellent Excel and database management/report writing skills
    • Self-managed, team player with a passion for team success
    • Experience interfacing with sales to industrial distributor organizations and OEMs desirable
    • Strong organization and time management skills required
    • Experience in conflict resolution required
    • Ability to travel as needed approximately 20%
    • Must be able to work in the US
