Conducts market research and intelligence gathering and recommends pricing targets. Being a Competitive Pricing Manager maintains competitive pricing databases to monitor changes in the marketplace and their impact on new and existing products. Performs analyses to test customer price sensitivity and elasticity. Additionally, Competitive Pricing Manager typically requires a bachelor's degree in business or related discipline. Main Purpose of the Role:
This position procures rates for ground freight, ocean freight and air freight, dedicated and general logistics solutions to issue formal quotes for internal/external customers. Assists with strategic partnerships, vendor/customer onboarding, international relationships, accounts payable and accounts receivable, logistics and operations for contracted services, and support the functions of Contract Logistics Manager.
Major Areas of Responsibility:
Responsible for day-to-day procurement, pricing, and issuance of formal quotes for internal and external customers.
Main Tasks:
Day to day procuring of rates for ground, ocean, air, warehousing, and logistics solutions services.
Issue formal quotes from MAGAYA (or any other pricing platform used by ZIM LOG USA).
Provide net costs to Sales team and Management for margin determination.
Ensure rate filling to FMC.
Monitor amendments and updates of all contracts with service providers.
Understand the pricing models and principles used to arrive at collective pricing decisions and business propositions.
Request from internal and external customers, all information needed for accurate procurement.
Benchmarking of pricing of local, foreign charges and come with recommendation for customer retention.
Reply to customers within 24 hours all inquiries received.
Follow up sent quotations and re-negotiate if needed for declined offers.
Inform manager about accepted quotations and transmit to relevant departments for handling.
Cooperate with Operations department for the kick-off of contracted services.
Coordinate new vendors/customers onboarding and vetting processes.
Monitor files for correct billing/invoice, ensure collection of quoted services and monitor payments to contracted vendors.
Organize and store relevant documents and communications for review.
Assist Contract Logistics Manager in all pricing, sales, logistics and operations related activities as per manager’s request.

Communicate opportune ideas for business development to their .team mates and manager
Special projects in sales, audit, customer service and pricing area.
