Compliance Analyst (Banking) jobs in Fargo, ND

Compliance Analyst (Banking) monitors customer accounts and researches transactions to identify suspicious activity violating current anti-money laundering (AML) regulations defined in the US Bank Secrecy Act (BSA) or other governmental anti-terrorist financing programs. Uses customer data mining and software tools to identify suspicious activity patterns. Being a Compliance Analyst (Banking) reviews daily Currency Transaction Reports (CTR) and Questionable Activity Reports (QAR), and submits Suspicious Activity Reports (SAR) as appropriate. Ensures adherence to Know your Customer (KYC) protocols. Additionally, Compliance Analyst (Banking) may lead or participate in investigations of suspicious activity to pursue corrective actions and ensure completion of required filings. Keeps abreast with regulatory changes, risk management best practices, and trending methods used by fraud perpetrators. Delivers compliance training with up-to-date regulatory information and procedures to develop and guide a well-informed staff. Typically requires a bachelor's degree. May have the Certified Anti Money Laundering Specialist (CAMS) certification. Typically reports to a manager. The Compliance Analyst (Banking) work is closely managed.     A day in the life

    The Compliance Analyst is responsible for the administration and maintenance of moderately complex compliance activities to meet the organization’s legal and regulatory compliance obligations. This role investigates potential compliance issues, addresses policy and regulatory violations, and develops and facilitates training programs to prevent non-compliance.


    Your responsibilities will include

    • Coordinates and oversees the documentation and review of moderately complex compliance activities and relevant business processes in compliance with applicable laws/regulations and internal programs and policies.
    • Develops and maintains effective service and support of internal collaboration by facilitating inter-divisional relationships, communication, and contact with relevant subject matter experts, leadership, and/or applicable parties.
    • Collaborates with subject matter experts and functional area management to ensure adherence to applicable laws/regulations and that the compliance programs foster and support a corporate culture of compliance excellence.
    • Investigates, documents, and resolves reports that violate a policy, procedure, practice, or contractual agreements within the organization.
    • Collaborates with applicable departments to review root-cause, remediation plan, and timeframe for each finding.
    • Interprets, guides, and assists appropriate management and/or staff with the development or revisions of procedures, policies, protocols, or operating guidelines to document compliance.
    • Evaluates existing processes and procedures to suggest appropriate improvements. Implements approved recommended improvements and monitors such improvements to ensure effectiveness.
    • Monitors, reviews, and assesses new and existing regulations to understand the effects to the organization.
    • Documents and tracks resolution of compliance issues and risks.
    • Assists in administering of records management.
    • Supports the development of data analysis tools to conduct compliance monitoring and helps develop metrics to track the overall effectiveness of the compliance program.
    • Performs work under general supervision. Handles moderately complex issues and problems and refers more complex issues to higher-level staff.

    What you need to succeed

    • Bachelor's degree in Business, Legal, Auditing, Law Enforcement or related.
    • 3 years of Health insurance, regulatory compliance, investigations, auditing, government programs or related experience required.
    • Either have or are willing to obtain a Compliance and Ethics Professional (CCEP) certification or Certified in Healthcare Compliance (CHC) certification.
    • Desire to collaborate and communicate well with other team members.
    • Experience managing different projects with varying deadlines.
    • Ability to problem solve, find resolutions and think analytically through different situations.

    Equivalent combination of education, experience or training determined to be acceptable by Human Resources may be substituted, unless regulated by contract or program standards
