Compliance Analyst (Banking) monitors customer accounts and researches transactions to identify suspicious activity violating current anti-money laundering (AML) regulations defined in the US Bank Secrecy Act (BSA) or other governmental anti-terrorist financing programs. Uses customer data mining and software tools to identify suspicious activity patterns. Being a Compliance Analyst (Banking) reviews daily Currency Transaction Reports (CTR) and Questionable Activity Reports (QAR), and submits Suspicious Activity Reports (SAR) as appropriate. Ensures adherence to Know your Customer (KYC) protocols. Additionally, Compliance Analyst (Banking) may lead or participate in investigations of suspicious activity to pursue corrective actions and ensure completion of required filings. Keeps abreast with regulatory changes, risk management best practices, and trending methods used by fraud perpetrators. Delivers compliance training with up-to-date regulatory information and procedures to develop and guide a well-informed staff. Typically requires a bachelor's degree. May have the Certified Anti Money Laundering Specialist (CAMS) certification. Typically reports to a manager. The Compliance Analyst (Banking) work is closely managed. Assists with the day-to-day operations of the corporate Legal and Compliance department including regulatory and product filings to state insurance departments, secretaries of state and state corporation divisions, research state and federal law to ensure compliance and other tasks within the Legal department. Liaison with staff from regulatory authorities to clarify requirements and obtain approval for filings.
Job Details
Corporate Reporting - Assist in the preparation of corporate reporting for domestic states, including the Annual Company Profile Questionnaire, Corporate Governance Annual Disclosure, Annual Holding Company Data Calls and ORSA. Work with other departments in obtaining data for required reporting and maintain reporting schedules and checklists.
Company Licensing - Assume primary role in the preparation of insurance company license (Certificate of Authority) applications and other related state license applications including, but not limited to, state business licenses and the renewals of all such licenses.
Product Filing - Assume primary role in reviewing and filing the Company's annuity products with state insurance regulatory authorities, utilizing state product filing systems, including the NAIC's System of Rate and Form Filing (SERFF) system.
Advertising Review - Assist with the development and review of advertising related to the Company's annuity products.
Regulatory Tracking - Research and track legislative and regulatory changes in multiple states; determine effects on products, processes, and procedures; and work with company staff to implement the changes.
Report to and perform other work or projects as directed by the Corporate Compliance Manager.
