Compliance Analyst (Banking), Sr. monitors customer accounts and researches transactions to identify suspicious activity violating current anti-money laundering (AML) regulations defined in the US Bank Secrecy Act (BSA) or other governmental anti-terrorist financing programs. Uses customer data mining and software tools to identify suspicious activity patterns. Being a Compliance Analyst (Banking), Sr. reviews daily Currency Transaction Reports (CTR) and Questionable Activity Reports (QAR), and submits Suspicious Activity Reports (SAR) as appropriate. Ensures adherence to Know your Customer (KYC) protocols. Additionally, Compliance Analyst (Banking), Sr. may lead or participate in investigations of suspicious activity to pursue corrective actions and ensure completion of required filings. Keeps abreast with regulatory changes, risk management best practices, and trending methods used by fraud perpetrators. Delivers compliance training with up-to-date regulatory information and procedures to develop and guide a well-informed staff. Typically requires a bachelor's degree. May have the Certified Anti Money Laundering Specialist (CAMS) certification. Typically reports to a manager. Compliance Risk Analyst (SAVP Compliance Risk Strategy), HSBC Technology & Services (USA) Inc., Buffalo, NY:
Receive information on changes to Regulations and work with the Regulation Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) to determine assessment activity needs. Perform quality assurance review on completed assessments from previous quarters and provide findings to the First Line of Defense and the Risk Stewards. Oversee the Trigger Event Process, keeping a log of all triggers submitted from various sources and working collaboratively with the Risk Steward team to determine what actions need to occur based on the trigger (i.e., new Risk Assessment or update to Procedure). Responsible for gathering commentary from the Risk Steward teams when items reported under the Risk Appetite Statement (RAS) are out of management tolerance. Review and submit sufficient commentary to the relevant governance forum. Overall responsible for ensuring that the monthly KI results are in good order and presented to the leadership team. Ensure that specific commentary is entered when there are breaches. Analyze trends in breaches and highlights those to the leadership team. Serve as an SME on the data within Helios and mine and present complex data in a manner than it is easy for the Risk Stewards to digest.

Full time employment, Monday - Friday, 40 hours per week, Pay range: $116,277 to $138,400 per year.
Must have a Bachelor's degree or foreign equivalent in Business, Finance, or a closely related field and 10 years of related work experience, of which, 5 years must be progressive, post-baccalaureate related work experience.
In the alternative, the employer will accept a Master's degree or foreign equivalent in Business, Finance or a closely related field and 8 years of related work experience.
Must have 8 years of experience in:
* Financial services audit, operations, and compliance;
* Project management; and,
* Regulatory compliance.
Must have 7 years of experience in Helios system.
