The Compliance Manager is responsible for overseeing agent compliance related to HIPAA, CMS and OCI authorities. The Compliance Manager will develop, manage, and implement processes to ensure the organization and contracted agents stay within the guidelines of the defined federal and state authorities.

Primary Responsibilities
- Oversees the day-to-day functions of the corporate compliance and privacy programs.
- Maintains HIPAA Privacy Compliance Manual
- Evaluates the organizations existing compliance policies and procedures by performing quarterly risk assessments and as needed.
- Creates and implements new compliance and privacy policies and procedures in response to regulatory changes and external reviews.
- Maintains policies and procedures related to PHI access and use; ensures strict adherence by all staff with access to PHI.
- Maintains required records and supporting documentation including authorization forms, notices, and plan documents.
- Serves as the subject matter expert on HIPAA and CMS regulations, maintaining current knowledge of laws and regulations, and any other applicable federal and state laws or regulations as an external and internal resource. Reports on changes in applicable laws and regulations and provides training as needed.
- Develop, approve, and monitor the educational and training materials and programs related to the Corporate Compliance Program.
- Responsible for annual carrier audits and investigations while complying with carrier specific requirements.
- Regularly Participates in compliance check ins with carriers.
- Maintains updated employee list for OIG/GSA monthly employee checks and completes pre-hire verification checks.
- Conducts compliance agent trainings to present best practices for selling Medicare Health plans. Assists agents with carrier audits, investigations, and grievances.
- Completes annual carrier and agent compliance attestations.
- Responsible for new hire and annual compliance training for all JSA and Informed Choice employees
- Facilitates quarterly corporate compliance meetings.
- Review and processes agent marketing materials such as flyers, websites, and social media.
- Submits all JSA and agent created marketing materials to HPMS and CMS for approval.
- Responsible for the tracking and reporting of all CMS approved agent and JSA marketing pieces and attachments.
- Researches and responds to all internal and external inquiries regarding compliance.
- Provides strategic direction to the management team on compliance.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications, Skills & Abilities
- Thorough understanding of HIPAA regulations, requirements, and guidelines.
- Through understanding of CMS regulations, requirements, and guidelines.
- Ability to explain and present complex information clearly and thoroughly.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
