Compliance Director (Banking) manages operations to identify and respond to suspicious activity violating current anti-money laundering (AML) regulations as defined in the US Bank Secrecy Act (BSA) or other governmental anti-terrorist financing programs. Implements oversight systems, interdiction software, and audit processes to perform daily transaction monitoring and identify suspicious activity patterns. Being a Compliance Director (Banking) monitors activity and ensures adherence to Know your Customer (KYC) protocols and regulatory requirements for required filings and reporting. Leads investigations of suspicious activity to pursue corrective actions and ensure completion of required filings. Additionally, Compliance Director (Banking) maintains extensive knowledge of financial regulations, risk management best practices, and changing fraudulent trends to develop and implement appropriate compliance procedures. Delivers compliance training with up-to-date regulatory information and procedures to develop and guide well-informed staff. Typically requires a bachelor's degree. May have the Certified Anti Money Laundering Specialist (CAMS) certification. Typically reports to a director. The Compliance Director (Banking) typically manages through subordinate managers and professionals in larger groups of moderate complexity. Provides input to strategic decisions that affect the functional area of responsibility. May give input into developing the budget. To be a Compliance Director (Banking) typically requires 3+ years of managerial experience. Assistant Athletics Director for NCAA Compliance
  • Gardner Webb University

    • Report independently to the Vice President for Athletics and to the University President on all compliance-related matters in his/her capacity as Assistant Athletics Director for NCAA Compliance. The incumbent also liaises regularly with the University Counsel, who will provide legal oversight of the incumbent’s work in Athletics.
    • Interpret and analyze NCAA and conference bylaws and rules to determine whether there has been a violation of those rules and recommend the appropriate remedial measures to address rules violations.
    • Provide professional opinions on compliance issues to the Athletics Department administrators, coaches, employees, and student-athletes, using professional judgment to analyze, interpret, and apply NCAA and conference bylaws and rules as compliance issues.
    • Review, analyze, and evaluate Athletics Department processes and procedures using professional judgment, experience, and expertise to identify areas of concern for potential compliance problems and make recommendations for those concerns.
    • Investigate potential rules violations in coordination with the Faculty Athletics Representative, and report all violations to the University President and the Vice President for Athletics, with recommendations for remedial measures and reporting to the NCAA and conference.
    • Implement and monitor all policies and procedures in all compliance areas such as recruiting activities, playing and practice seasons, and camps/clinics.
    • Serve as liaison to the Registrar’s Office, Undergraduate Admissions, Graduate Admissions, Housing and Residence Education, and the Financial Planning Office.
    • Review and process student-athletes’ athletic, institutional, and outside financial aid.
    • Maintain National Letter of Intent program.
    • Monitor team and individual limits, prepare squad lists, and assist the certifying officer in the coordination of academic certification for initial, continuing, and transfer eligibility.
    • Implement and conduct rules education programs, and develop and maintain a compliance website.
    • Monitor all initial eligibility and assist with monitoring all continuing eligibility.
    • Possess knowledge of the NCAA legislative cycle, and stay current on all changes with NCAA legislation and conference rules.
    • Maintain the Compliance Assistant software program of student-athlete information and squad lists.
    • Maintain ARMS Software for the entire Athletics Department.
    • Monitor the NCAA Special Assistance Fund and NCAA Student-Athlete Opportunity Fund programs.
    • Supervise the Graduate Intern for Compliance, Compliance Office student intern(s), and student workers.
    • Serve as a member on the Certification Committee.
    • Complete NCAA and EADA Reports (Sports Sponsorship, Membership Financial Reporting, APR, SAF/SAOF, EADA, etc.).
    • Additional duties as assigned by the Vice President for Athletics, President, or University Counsel.
