Compliance Director (Banking) manages operations to identify and respond to suspicious activity violating current anti-money laundering (AML) regulations as defined in the US Bank Secrecy Act (BSA) or other governmental anti-terrorist financing programs. Implements oversight systems, interdiction software, and audit processes to perform daily transaction monitoring and identify suspicious activity patterns. Being a Compliance Director (Banking) monitors activity and ensures adherence to Know your Customer (KYC) protocols and regulatory requirements for required filings and reporting. Leads investigations of suspicious activity to pursue corrective actions and ensure completion of required filings. Additionally, Compliance Director (Banking) maintains extensive knowledge of financial regulations, risk management best practices, and changing fraudulent trends to develop and implement appropriate compliance procedures. Delivers compliance training with up-to-date regulatory information and procedures to develop and guide well-informed staff. Typically requires a bachelor's degree. May have the Certified Anti Money Laundering Specialist (CAMS) certification. Typically reports to a director. We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Director of Compliance to join our team. As the Director of Compliance, you will be responsible for ensuring that our organization operates in accordance with all relevant laws, regulations, and industry standards. Your expertise in compliance management and knowledge of healthcare regulations will be crucial in maintaining our commitment to ethical practices and legal compliance. You will also report to the V.P. of Operations and assist them in other administrative duties as needed.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement comprehensive compliance programs and policies
- Monitor and assess the effectiveness of existing compliance programs
- Conduct regular audits and risk assessments to identify potential compliance issues
- Stay up-to-date with changes in laws, regulations, and industry standards related to healthcare compliance
- Provide guidance and training to employees on compliance matters
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to address compliance concerns and implement corrective actions
- Investigate any reported violations or breaches of compliance policies
- Prepare reports for senior management and regulatory agencies as required
- Ensure adherence to HIPAA, FDA regulations, Medicaid andMedicare guidelines, and other relevant healthcare regulations such DAIL and OIG.
- Oversee coding practices to ensure accuracy and compliance with ICD-10 and ICD-9 coding standards
Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in a related field; advanced degree preferred
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in compliance management, preferably in the healthcare industry
- Strong knowledge of healthcare regulations, including HIPAA, FDA regulations, Medicare guidelines, etc.
- Familiarity with coding practices and standards (ICD-10, ICD-9)
- Proven track record of developing and implementing effective compliance programs
- Excellent analytical skills with the ability to identify potential risks and develop mitigation strategies
- Strong communication skills with the ability to effectively train employees on compliance matters
- Detail-oriented with a high level of integrity and ethical standards
