Compliance Director (Banking) manages operations to identify and respond to suspicious activity violating current anti-money laundering (AML) regulations as defined in the US Bank Secrecy Act (BSA) or other governmental anti-terrorist financing programs. Implements oversight systems, interdiction software, and audit processes to perform daily transaction monitoring and identify suspicious activity patterns. Being a Compliance Director (Banking) monitors activity and ensures adherence to Know your Customer (KYC) protocols and regulatory requirements for required filings and reporting. Leads investigations of suspicious activity to pursue corrective actions and ensure completion of required filings. Additionally, Compliance Director (Banking) maintains extensive knowledge of financial regulations, risk management best practices, and changing fraudulent trends to develop and implement appropriate compliance procedures. Delivers compliance training with up-to-date regulatory information and procedures to develop and guide well-informed staff. Typically requires a bachelor's degree. May have the Certified Anti Money Laundering Specialist (CAMS) certification. Typically reports to a director. The Compliance Director (Banking) typically manages through subordinate managers and professionals in larger groups of moderate complexity. Provides input to strategic decisions that affect the functional area of responsibility. May give input into developing the budget. To be a Compliance Director (Banking) typically requires 3+ years of managerial experience.     Responsibilities:
    Under the direction of the USA Health Chief Compliance Officer, this position will provide leadership and work in partnership across USA Health to evaluate and analyze areas of compliance risk, formulate risk mitigation, and ensure compliance with USA Health policies and procedures and applicable federal/state law; this position conducts internal audits to evaluate compliance levels and recommend improvements; it is responsible for ensuring periodic risk assessments are prepared for all applicable areas of compliance and that key compliance elements are monitored and audited regularly; collaborates with department heads, staff, and stakeholders to identify potential compliance risks within USA Health and to improve internal controls, establish policies and procedures, and enhance risk management practices; identifies and analyzes potential risks to regulatory compliance; develops strategies to address deficiencies; develops risk assessment methodologies and tools to facilitate the evaluation process; conducts risk assessments on new projects, initiatives, and processes to ensure potential risks are identified and addressed; plans and executes internal audits to evaluate the effectiveness of controls, policies, and procedures related to areas of compliance. Reviews and assesses USA Health operations, financial records, clinical processes, and other areas to identify areas of non-compliance; researches and creates audit programs and audit tools/templates based on high-risk audit areas. Conducts regular internal audits to evaluate compliance with regulatory requirements, industry standards and internal policies; monitors and ensures compliance with relevant laws, regulations, and industry standards; stays updated with changes in regulations to ensure USA Health practices align with latest guidelines; develops and executes audit plans, including risk assessments, audit scope, procedures and timelines; provides recommendations and works with relevant stakeholders to implement corrective actions; develops and implements risk mitigation strategies and action plans based on audit findings; prepares detailed reports on risk assessments, audit findings, and recommendations. Communicates findings and recommendations to management and key stakeholders; maintains comprehensive documentation of audit processes, results, and actions taken. Presents audit reports to senior management and other compliance stakeholders as required; provides training and education to USA Health staff on risk management principles, internal controls, and compliance requirements; fosters a culture of risk awareness, accountability, and continuous improvement; collaborates with cross-functional teams across USA Health to ensure effective risk management practices are implemented; provides guidance and support to department heads in implementing corrective actions; stays abreast of industry trends, emerging risks, and best practices in healthcare risk management; continuously evaluates and enhances risk assessment methodologies, audit procedures and monitoring processes to improve the effectiveness and efficiency of risk management activities; recommends updates and modifications to compliance policies and procedures; maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops, reviewing professional publications, and establishing a network of regulatory and compliance professionals; cooperates with the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services Office for Civil Rights, Office of Inspector General, Department of Justice or other government enforcement agencies on any compliance reviews or investigations; updates USA Health Chief Compliance Officer on status of compliance efforts and any related issues; reports to USA Health Chief Compliance Officer; regular and prompt attendance; ability to work schedule as defined and overtime as required; related duties as required.

    Qualifications:
    Bachelor’s degree in accounting, business, hospital/public administration or a related field and five years of related professional experience in healthcare compliance, three of which were specific to internal auditing with experience performing risk assessments. CPA and/or compliance professional certification preferred. Master’s degree preferred.
