Compliance Director (Banking) manages operations to identify and respond to suspicious activity violating current anti-money laundering (AML) regulations as defined in the US Bank Secrecy Act (BSA) or other governmental anti-terrorist financing programs. Implements oversight systems, interdiction software, and audit processes to perform daily transaction monitoring and identify suspicious activity patterns. Being a Compliance Director (Banking) monitors activity and ensures adherence to Know your Customer (KYC) protocols and regulatory requirements for required filings and reporting. Leads investigations of suspicious activity to pursue corrective actions and ensure completion of required filings. Additionally, Compliance Director (Banking) maintains extensive knowledge of financial regulations, risk management best practices, and changing fraudulent trends to develop and implement appropriate compliance procedures. Delivers compliance training with up-to-date regulatory information and procedures to develop and guide well-informed staff. Typically requires a bachelor's degree. May have the Certified Anti Money Laundering Specialist (CAMS) certification. Typically reports to a director. The Compliance Director (Banking) typically manages through subordinate managers and professionals in larger groups of moderate complexity. Provides input to strategic decisions that affect the functional area of responsibility. May give input into developing the budget. To be a Compliance Director (Banking) typically requires 3+ years of managerial experience.       About the Role:  

      As a member of the Private Banking team, you will assist in managing some of the Bank's most significant deposit relationships. You will provide clients with a full range of deposit banking support, facilitate the delivery of digital products, identify opportunities to deepen client relationships and provide administrative assistance to the Private Banking team. The ideal candidate for this role should have banking experience, excellent communication and interpersonal skills, strong organizational and problem-solving abilities, and a passion for exceptional customer service.

       

      Key Responsibilities:

      • Coordinates banking solutions, opening and closing accounts as necessary, and handling issues related to digital products.
      • Identify opportunities to deepen client relationships by providing additional banking solutions or partnering with Business and Wealth Management Advisors.
      • Facilitates the delivery of digital products, including online and mobile banking and payment services (wire, remote deposit capture, ACH).
      • As needed, document client interaction and data using customer relationship management software. 
      • Assumes responsibility for carrying out tasks for the Private Banker as requested, many of which may be confidential or timely. Completes tasks or projects independently when requested. 
      • Assists in managing and arranging the schedule for client meetings. This includes arranging appointments and meetings with internal and external clients.  
      • Anticipates and prepares clients' reports and paperwork before client meetings.   

       

      Customer/Client Support 

      • Delivers exceptional customer care and service by promptly, thoroughly, and accurately handling clients' requests.   
      • Researches clients' problems and identifies solutions. Knows each client well enough to act on a request in the Private Banker's absence.  
      • Handle Private Banking cash drawer functions and the vertex system. This includes setting up each morning and balancing every night.  
      • Handles account input and maintenance for Private Banking clients. 
      • Participate in business development activities, including making personal calls to current and prospective clients. 

       

      Banking Division Team Support 

      • Communicates regularly with the Business and Community Banking teams, informing them of new developments and client needs.  
      • Prepares necessary account documentation, including maintaining client files. Assists customers in completing documents needed for all areas of the Bank.  
      • Coordinates and teams with other departments across the Bank to meet customer needs.  
      • Assists and covers for other Banking Division employees as needed.
      • Works independently on various accounts, client matters, and projects.  
      • Through ongoing training, maintains thorough knowledge of the Bank's products, services, policies, procedures, and federal regulations pertaining to duties.  
      • Maintains that client privacy and confidentiality are of the utmost importance, as stated in our Code of Conduct and Ethics.
      • Participates in Baker Boyer customer and community events.
      • Performs additional duties as requested.  

       

      Education and Experience Requirements:

      An associate's degree (A. A.) or equivalent from a community college or technical school; two to three years related experience and training; or an equivalent combination of education and experience. An understanding of the banking and financial services industry is desired. 

       

      Skills and Qualifications:

      • Demonstrates technical capacity. Strong knowledge and ability to use Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams, PowerPoint) proficiently and accurately. Experience with SharePoint and CRM (or other customer tracking software) desired
      • Excellent customer service skills, delivering professional and courteous contact with the public in person, on the phone, or through written correspondence. 
      • Proactively builds and maintains positive relationships by portraying an approachable and open-minded outlook.
      • Ability to deal with problems involving several variables in standardized situations or seek additional support when needed
      • Exceptional time management skills, attention to detail, and accuracy; ability to efficiently organize and prioritize multiple tasks.
      • Willingness to take initiative; proven ability to work independently and with limited direction
      • Ability and willingness to interact with vendors and other professionals as part of our daily operations and various professionals in the community, such as attorneys and accountants, on behalf of our clients.  
      • A valid Driver's License is required.
