Hiring Range : $39.84 - $55.78
The actual compensation for this position will be determined based on experience and other factors permitted by law.

Responsibilities:

• Develops, implements and maintains effective compliance, risk and privacy programs for SMH to prevent non-compliant, unethical or improper conduct.
• The SMH Compliance and Privacy Officer monitors and reports results of the compliance, privacy and ethics efforts of SMH and provides guidance to the executive and senior management team on matters relating to reporting, compliance and privacy.
• The SMH Compliance and Privacy Officer is authorized to implement all necessary actions to ensure achievement of the objectives of effective compliance and privacy programs.
• The SMH Compliance and Privacy Officer works closely with other leaders, members and departments of SMH to assure compliance with all state, federal and local laws and regulations affecting the healthcare industry.

• The SMH Compliance and Privacy Officer works closely with other leaders, members and departments of SMH to assure compliance with all state, federal and local laws and regulations affecting the healthcare industry.
• Investigate and respond to complaints of HIPAA non-compliance. Keep abreast of all state and federal laws concerning patient’s rights.

Experience:

• BA/BS in Business or similar required.
• 3 years of experience working in a healthcare setting (preferably a hospital) required; 7 years preferred.
• 3 years of leadership or management experience required; 5 years preferred . NYS Driver's License required upon hire.

• Certification in Health Care Compliance preferred; will support attaining certification for qualified candidates within one (1) year of hire.
