Title: Compliance Manager

Job Summary:
The Compliance Manager has primary responsibility for the implementing the plant’s environmental, health, and safety (EH&S) requirements, as well compliance with NERC Standards applicable to the facility. The Compliance Manager shall become familiar with all plant permits and regulatory requirements that relate to EH&S and NERC matters. The Compliance Manager is required to provide an ongoing environmental and safety framework for the plant personnel by working closely with the plant employees and Plant Manager and the regulatory agencies to achieve practical and improved environmental and safety practices. The Compliance Manager is also responsible for managing and enforcing company, local, state, and federal rules, and regulations, as well as Owner and PIC Safety protocols at the plant. The Compliance Manager will also be responsible for creating, reviewing, revising, and implementing EH&S policies and procedures in compliance with local, state, and federal rules and regulations. The Compliance Manager reports directly to and supports the Plant Manager for PIC Group, Inc. and will provide recommendations and advice to the staff in the preparation of budgets and ensuring compliance objectives for the generation facility.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Support the plant to ensure continual compliance with all federal, state, and local regulations, as well as Owner and PIC Safety Protocols pertaining to EHS and NERC.
- Assists the Plant Manager in developing a culture of compliance for the facility. Provides ownership for the creation and execution of a detailed compliance calendar.
- Performing duties in a professional, courteous, and collaborative manner.
- Provides key support for the periodic auditing of the facility.
- Serves as the functional point-of-contact for interaction and support for various regulatory personnel.
- Professionally supports the Plant Manager in all interactions with Stakeholders, such as Owners, Officials, and Regulatory Personnel.
- Assist with reviewing and updating site-specific procedures.
- Provide support to plant personnel with recommendations and guidance to solve problems, ensure compliance, and promote good governance.
- Provide leadership in Incident Investigations and Root Cause Analysis.
- Ensure compliance with regulatory training requirements and provide and/or coordinate EH&S training as needed.
- Develop and submit monthly reports as necessary to ensure compliance.
- Maintain open line of communication to Corporate EH&S Director, Corporate EH&S Coordinator, Plant Manager, and Project Manager.
- Provide timely response to plant EH&S issues and requests for support.
- Perform other duties as required and assigned.
Job Requirements:
- The successful candidate should be able to read and understand corporate programs, policies, procedures, and instructions specific to the O&M Agreement. Qualifications must include the following:

- Strong computer skills with word processing, spreadsheets, presentation and other business and technical software used to increase personal productivity.
Physical Requirements:
- Duties require walking, standing, and sitting for extended periods of time, climbing vertical and inclined ladders and stairs, and lifting and carrying up to 50 lbs.
- Must be able to use protective equipment correctly such as hard hats, safety glasses, ear protection, safety shoes, gloves, and vests as required.
Education / Experience:
- 5 year’s work experience in Compliance Management or Industrial Hygiene Management
- Experience with NERC/PJM and State of Michigan preferred.
- Experience in 29 CFR (OSHA General Industry) 40 CFR (EPA) and state requirements, preferred.
- Experience in qualifying for OSHA Voluntary Protection Program preferred.
