    Position Summary:

    The Compliance Manager, under the supervision of the Compliance Director, works closely with operations staff to assess the delivery of services and provide support and guidance in ensuring that services are being provided in a manner that is consistent with Beacon's standards of quality of care. This position is responsible for ensuring that primary responsibilities are delivered in compliance with the company's policies and procedures and all federal and state rules regulating the provision of services to people with Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities. As the Compliance Manager, you are to be aligned with the goals and mission of the organization and to perform in accordance with our "I care" core values of the organization - Integrity, Compassion, Advocacy, Respect and Excellence.

    Primary Responsibilities/Essential Functions:

    The Compliance Manager will strive to maintain an understanding and measurement of quality from multiple perspectives. They will work to engage in positive and corrective practices supporting improvement on a consistent basis. This will be demonstrated through the completion of the following responsibilities:

    • Completion of regular on-site program site visits to determine and report on:
    • Satisfaction of people receiving services
    • Employee satisfaction
    • Physical environment and safety within programs
    • Assist with oversight of the use and implementation of Beacon systems such as Clarity, Brittco, OnSeen, etc.
    • Provide staff training as needed to ensure consistency throughout BSLS Ohio. Topics may include specific system use (MS Excel/Word, Clarity, Brittco, OnSeen, etc.}, regulatory standards, integration of Person-Centered thinking and philosophy within daily work, and other topics as needed.
    • Maintain a thorough understanding of state and federal regulations and standards regarding the delivery of services to individuals receiving services by Beacon.
    • Assist with oversight of Compliance Auditing and Licensing requirements for Beacon programs. 6. Maintain policies, forms, and electronic data collection systems in accordance with OH standards and company needs.
    • Assist with coordination and hosting of file auditing process.
    • Provides necessary reporting and corrective action plans resulting from system and/or file auditing process.
    • Supports Ohio response to Beacon corporate requests and reporting for system data, survey results or similar.
    • Completes required documentation and follow up of investigations and subsequent internal review documentation resulting from alleged or suspected maltreatment.
    • Coaches program staff on implementation of needed services.
    • Evaluates causes and suggests changes strategies when adverse incidents occur.
    • Performs other duties as assigned or requested.
    • Adheres to BSLS Core Values, Mission Statement, and Corporate Philosophies.

    Job Skills and Abilities:

    • Organizational skills to prioritize duties, structure time and complete responsibilities in a timely manner.
    • Skills to develop, implement, and evaluate person-centered outcome-based services for persons served; this includes having the competencies to provide positive support strategies.
    • Proficiency with computer skills using Microsoft Word and Excel.
    • Ability to coordinate support to diverse home and community-based settings.
    • Ability to identify problems, gather relevant facts, evaluate options, and make appropriate decisions.
    • Effective written and oral communication skills to relate to diverse individuals and groups throughout the agency and community.
    • Ability to maintain objectivity when evaluating services and completing investigations.
    • Must have the ability to lift up to 10 lbs.

    Education & Qualifications:

    • Must be at least 18 years old.
    • Must have a high school diploma or equivalent. Bachelor's degree (preferred)
    • Must successfully complete all OH DoDD & Beacon background checks and hiring requirements.
    • Must meet licensed driver/insurability requirements and have a safe, insured vehicle to perform work duties unless otherwise specified.
    • Must be proficient in comprehending, reading, writing, and speaking English.

    Work Environment & Physical Demands:

    • This position is officed out of the corporate office however the employee will work in a variety of settings, which may include the inside or outside Beacon Specialized Living programs, individual residences of the people supported and/or other locations throughout the community.
    • Regularly travels in the community, drives a vehicle and transports persons supported and may be asked to use the employee's own vehicle (with paid mileage).
    • May be subject to hostile and emotionally upset persons supported, staff, family members, visitors, and personnel from other agencies.
    • May be exposed to pets/animals in the various locations visited.
    • Flexibility in work hours and locations is required to meet the organizational needs of this position.
    • This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as laptop computers, photocopiers and smart phones.
    • Sits, stands, walks, bends, and moves intermittently during working hours.

    Performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and ability to adjust focus.

    Supervisory Responsibility:

    This position has no direct supervisory responsibilities but does serve as a coach and mentor for other positions in the field.

    Position Type/Expected Hours of Work

    This is a full-time position. Days and hours of work vary due to training needs in homes. Occasional evening and weekend work may be required as job duties demand.

    Travel

    Travel is required around 60% of the time to different homes throughout the State of Ohio for site audits, investigations/follow-up, training, etc. Mileage reimbursement will be paid.
