ABOUT WAYSIDE SCHOOLS: Wayside Schools is an open-enrollment, tuition-free Pre-K3-12th grade public charter school network that provides over 1,900 scholars across its four South Austin campuses with a rigorous International Baccalaureate education. Since 2012, Wayside schools has striven to empower historically underserved scholars, providing them with the instructional experiences, academic skills, intellectual habits and social and emotional competencies needed to become graduates from four-year colleges and universities, providing them with the access and opportunities they need to narrate their own futures and positively impact and empower the families and communities to which they belong.
JOB GOAL/Overview:
To assist in the attainment of District objectives by completing special projects, providing technical assistance to District staff in the area of NCLB/ESSA compliance standards, comprehensive needs assessment, campus/district improvement plans, program evaluation, assist in developing and implementing a monitoring program and offering recommendations for improvement. This position is assigned full-time (100%) to the administration of NCLB/ESSA programs to include activities designed to enhance the effective and coordinated use of funds.
QUALIFICATIONS
Education
Bachelor's Degree from an accredited four-year college in education, accounting, business or related field
Experience
- Two years of work experience in a school district
- Two years of work experience in a Federal Program Dept. or equivalent -preferred
- Two years of work experience in Federal Funds and/or Special Revenue Accounts -preferred
- In depth knowledge of local, state and federal regulations to include EDGAR, FASRG, compliance guidelines as well as District policies and procedures
Skills
- Bilingual in Spanish (plus)
- Excellent analytical skills with the ability to perform related data analysis, statute
- Interpretation, and problem-solving to determine the proper use of funds
- Knowledge of Grants and compliance reports
- Knowledge of private non-profit school services requirements -a plus
- Demonstrated ability to work independently and collaboratively with others in a fast-paced environment and meet established deadlines
- Ability to communicate effectively in both written and verbal form
- Strong presentation, organizational, documentation, and training skills

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES
- Federal Compliance-Finance
- Complete all Federal Title Grant Reports for Wayside Schools including NCLB/ESSA Consolidated application, amendments, compliance reports, School Improvement Programs and Impact Aid.
- Provide guidance to District staff at all levels regarding the proper use of funds for all funds processed through the Federal Programs Department
- Develop, implement and administer a monitoring program to ensure compliance requirements to include campus/department monitoring visits and provide results with recommendations for improved compliance
- Maintain compliance platforms such as Title I Crate and Plan for Learning and provide training to campus staff as needed
- Assist District staff as all levels in the development of comprehensive needs assessments, campus/district improvement plans, program evaluations and budgets
- Bilingual(ESL) and 504 Compliance for Secondary Schools (Middle and High)
- Serve as the district lead on all bilingual compliance work including: Exceptions and Waiver submission, LPAC training for Campus Coordinators, and TELPAS training
- Serve as Lead Administrator on: SameGoal platform for LPAC application, Data Manager for Reclassification (IOWA), DRC Administrator
- Help ensure all LEP Verification reports are submitted for verification during PEIMS submission windows
- Serve as the district lead on Immigrant tracking for Network
- Onboard any new Campus Coordinator to Bilingual responsibilities
- Be lead on setting up the Bilingual LEP Summer School every June. Duties include ensuring the required 120 hours are scheduled, posting jobs for teachers and principal, selecting of teachers and principal, submitting timesheets, identifying scholars who qualify to participate in the program, coordinating food service during summer school with network Nutrition personnel, creating a parent survey, supervising summer school principal.
- Section 504
- Serve as lead for School Lead for Middle and High School on 504 meetings for scholars at respective campuses
- Work with the Director of Special Services to ensure that 504 students receive appropriate services/accommodations and that those accommodations are represented in corresponding testing environments
- Help ensure all 504 Verification reports at secondary are submitted for verification during PEIMS submission windows
- Provide technical support to campuses in the area of compliance, testing, identification
III. District Testing Coordinator
- Responsible for implementing training to all Campus Testing Coordinators, IT Department, and Principals for STAAR, STAAR ALT2 and TELPAS, TELPAS Alt.
- Be DTC lead on the following platforms: Cambium, Pearson, and Testhound.
- Responsible for ensuring a secure testing environment for the various testing times during the year.
- Coordinate orders for necessary materials for testing at each campus.
- Report any irregularities for the network to TEA
- Provide technical assistance to campus leaders on implementation, security, violation, and compliance.
- Responsible for sending state assessment score results to Student Data for uploading into the current SIS, and uploading into DMAC, SameGoal, and Testhound.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS/ENVIRONMENTAL FACTORS
- Services are generally provided within a standard classroom and office environment.
- Light lifting of materials and other objects associated with a classroom environment is required (e.g., books, teaching aids, up to approximately 20 – 40 lbs.).
- Candidate should be willing to contribute directly or indirectly to the development of children both inside and outside the classroom, which may include working hours in addition to the regular school day.
