Compliance Manager manages the compliance programs, policies, reporting, and practices for an organization or business. Ensures that all activities follow regulatory requirements related to the governance of the organization as well as any industry-specific or location-specific laws. Being a Compliance Manager oversees internal controls and auditing systems that monitor and report on regulated activities and processes. Implements risk-based compliance testing of existing procedures and controls to identify, detect, and correct noncompliance. Additionally, Compliance Manager evaluates and implements changes to compliance processes due to new or amended regulations. Delivers communication and training initiatives that inform stakeholders about compliance requirements. Requires a bachelor's degree or equivalent. Typically reports to a director. DOT Compliance Manager
Position Summary
The position will be responsible for overseeing the fleet and driver compliance in accordance with Federal and State regulations. Will provide training, instruction, and guidance in areas related to DOT compliance. The position will travel to Texas and Louisiana locations.
Qualifications
· Experience working in DOT, FMCSA, PHMSA and OSHA regulatory compliance
· Experience in the transportation industry (fuel tax, licensing, permitting and registrations, DOT safety, driver qualification file compliance, and hours of service log auditing).
· Experience conducting fleet and driver audits
· Experience with Clearinghouse and Drug and Alcohol policies and procedures
· Proficiency in ELDs preferably with Geotab
Responsibilities
· Ensure fleet and driver qualification compliance with all Federal and State regulatory agencies such as DOT, FMCSA, PHMSA, OSHA
· Manage the Drug and Alcohol Process for DOT compliance
· Involved with driver onboarding process
· Investigate incidents/accidents/near-miss and fill out reports
· Oversee driver’s HOS and ELDs
