Compliance Manager manages the compliance programs, policies, reporting, and practices for an organization or business. Ensures that all activities follow regulatory requirements related to the governance of the organization as well as any industry-specific or location-specific laws. Being a Compliance Manager oversees internal controls and auditing systems that monitor and report on regulated activities and processes. Implements risk-based compliance testing of existing procedures and controls to identify, detect, and correct noncompliance. Additionally, Compliance Manager evaluates and implements changes to compliance processes due to new or amended regulations. Delivers communication and training initiatives that inform stakeholders about compliance requirements. Requires a bachelor's degree or equivalent. Typically reports to a director. The Compliance Manager manages subordinate staff in the day-to-day performance of their jobs. True first level manager. Ensures that project/department milestones/goals are met and adhering to approved budgets. Has full authority for personnel actions. To be a Compliance Manager typically requires 5 years experience in the related area as an individual contributor. 1 - 3 years supervisory experience may be required.   • About this role: As a key member of the Intervention Team, the Manager of Intervention Compliance is responsible for ensuring all Collegiate Academies Scholar Support goals are met. The Manager of Intervention Compliance works with Case Managers, General Education Teachers, our School Social Workers, and outside service providers to make sure behavioral and academic services across the school are meeting the needs of our scholars and are documented with the highest quality.

Founded in 2008, Collegiate Academies serves over 3,000 students in five public high schools and two postsecondary programs in New Orleans and Baton Rouge. We serve a dramatically higher proportion of students with special needs, students who are English language learners, and students who are from economically disadvantaged backgrounds. Our teams engage in regular observations, weekly coaching meetings and ongoing learning through professional development.


    Role and Responsibilities

    Diverse Learner Programming Compliance

    • Ensure 100% compliance of all diverse support plans and systems across the school: IEPs, 504s, LAPs, IHPs, BIP, RTI, etc
    • Manage all compliance data systems across the school, including the state system for scholars with disabilities (SER) and our internal tracking systems (Google Office)
    • Lead the team in all scholar support-based audits including, but not limited to: internal audits, IDEA, Title III, Medicaid, etc.
    • Continuously improve work with the Director of Intervention, Specialized Program Leads and other stakeholders to ensure that compliance systems

    Related Service Provision and Collaboration

    • Lead related service providers (consultants and agencies) and nurture relationships (in conjunction with the DI) between the school and providers to foster strong community and communication.
    • Coach school-based nurses on meeting all required compliance metrics and managing OT/PT prescriptions, medical release forms, mental health consents, etc.
    • Partner with school-based mental health providers to ensure compliant BIPs, mental health treatment plans and other critical compliance indicators.

    Scholar Support Operations and Communications

    • In partnership with the DI, manage scholar support team communications across the school, including content compilation and editing for the bi-weekly communication, monthly compliance communication, weekly performance indicator data, and other communication needs that may arise.
    • Communicate constantly regarding the quality of our documents, systems, data, and processes to ensure the team is aware of strengths and areas of growth.
    • Organize regular check ins with Case Managers to ensure high quality IEP writing and service provision is happening for all scholars.

    Qualifications

    • Bachelor’s or Master's Degree.
    • Strong Excel skills.
    • Experience in K-12 education, higher education or a related field

    The starting salary range for this position is: $50,000 - $65,000. New hires are typically brought into the organization at a salary between the range minimum and the range midpoint depending on qualifications, internal equity, and location.
