Compliance Manager manages the compliance programs, policies, reporting, and practices for an organization or business. Ensures that all activities follow regulatory requirements related to the governance of the organization as well as any industry-specific or location-specific laws. Being a Compliance Manager oversees internal controls and auditing systems that monitor and report on regulated activities and processes. Implements risk-based compliance testing of existing procedures and controls to identify, detect, and correct noncompliance. Additionally, Compliance Manager evaluates and implements changes to compliance processes due to new or amended regulations. Delivers communication and training initiatives that inform stakeholders about compliance requirements. Requires a bachelor's degree or equivalent. Typically reports to a director. The Compliance Manager manages subordinate staff in the day-to-day performance of their jobs. True first level manager. Ensures that project/department milestones/goals are met and adhering to approved budgets. Has full authority for personnel actions. To be a Compliance Manager typically requires 5 years experience in the related area as an individual contributor. 1 - 3 years supervisory experience may be required. Project Manager- Compliance Engineer

  • HRP Associates, Inc. is seeking a Project Manager to join our growing compliance engineering team out of our Clifton Park, NY or Farmington, CT office.  The successful candidate will demonstrate enthusiasm and technical ability and will work collaboratively with a talented team of engineers to achieve successful outcomes for our broad-ranging client base.  The Project Manager will have demonstrated success conducting regulatory reviews and performing technical calculations on a wide variety of projects and possess curiosity, drive, and ambition. The ideal candidate will have experience with projects in the following media: Air, Tanks/Spill Prevention Control and Countermeasure Plans, Process Safety Management/Risk Management Plans, Stormwater, and/or Wastewater.     Key Responsibilities:

    • Leading a team of talented engineers to complete multi-media projects to meet client needs.
    • Maintaining and grow relationships with clients. 
    • Maintaining positive relationships with regulatory agencies.
    • Training and mentoring junior staff.
    • Reviewing and completing technical submissions (application packages, plans, other written deliverables) for submittal to regulatory agencies or client retention.
    • Developing and implementing strategies for client solutions while adhering to project schedules
    • Managing projects to meet deadlines, maintain high quality work product, and optimize financial metrics.
    • Developing proposals and supporting business development activities.  
    • Performing other duties as required.

    Job Requirements:

    • We are looking for creative, results driven individuals with strong technical and leadership skills  
    • BS in Chemical, Mechanical, Environmental Engineering, or similar major
    • Minimum 7 years’ experience completing compliance work within the following fields: air compliance, stormwater, wastewater, chemical and petroleum bulk storage, process safety management
    • PE license or working towards getting a PE license within 1 year of hire
    • Demonstrated success in planning, developing, and executing permitting strategies for various clients in a fast-paced environment
    • Strong written and verbal communication skills with proficiency in MS Office products
    • Capable of working both independently and in a team environment
    • Self-motivated, energetic professional
    • Travel to client locations and meetings as needed, possess valid U.S. driver’s license
