HR Scheduling Compliance Specialist

  • Overview: As a Human Resource Schedule Compliance Specialist, you will be responsible for ensuring adherence to company policies and regulatory requirements related to employee scheduling and work hours. You will play a critical role in maintaining compliance with labor laws, company policies, and contractual obligations, ultimately contributing to the efficient operation of the organization. This role requires meticulous attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and the ability to communicate effectively with various stakeholders.

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Schedule Compliance Monitoring: Monitor employee schedules to ensure compliance with labor laws, company policies, and contractual agreements.
    • Audit and Analysis: Conduct regular audits of scheduling practices and time records to identify discrepancies or potential violations. Analyze data to identify trends and areas for improvement.
    • Policy Enforcement: Enforce company policies and procedures related to scheduling, overtime, and time-off requests. Provide guidance to managers and employees on compliance matters.
    • Legal Compliance: Stay updated on federal, state, and local labor laws and regulations governing scheduling and work hours. Ensure that the organization remains compliant with relevant legislation.
    • Documentation and Reporting: Maintain accurate records of scheduling activities, compliance efforts, and any corrective actions taken. Prepare reports and presentations for management as needed.
    • Training and Education: Develop training materials and conduct training sessions for managers and employees on scheduling best practices, compliance requirements, and relevant policies.
    • Conflict Resolution: Address scheduling-related conflicts or disputes, working closely with managers, employees, and relevant stakeholders to find equitable solutions.
    • Continuous Improvement: Identify opportunities to streamline scheduling processes, enhance compliance measures, and improve overall efficiency. Implement changes as necessary.

    Qualifications:

    • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field or relevant job experience.
    • Experience: Minimum of 2 years of experience in human resources, with a focus on scheduling, compliance, or labor relations. Experience in industries with complex scheduling requirements (such as healthcare, retail, or hospitality) is preferred.
    • Knowledge: Strong understanding of federal, state, and local labor laws and regulations. Familiarity with scheduling software and timekeeping systems. Excellent grasp of HR policies and procedures.
    • Analytical Skills: Ability to analyze data, identify patterns, and draw actionable insights. Proficiency in Excel or other data analysis tools is desirable.
    • Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Ability to communicate complex information effectively to diverse audiences.
    • Attention to Detail: Meticulous attention to detail and accuracy in record-keeping and documentation.
    • Problem-Solving: Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to assess situations, identify potential issues, and develop effective solutions.
    • Interpersonal Skills: Ability to collaborate effectively with colleagues at all levels of the organization. Diplomacy and tact in handling sensitive or contentious issues.

    Working Conditions: This role typically operates in a professional office environment. However, occasional travel to different locations may be required for training or to address compliance issues.
