    Job Description

    As LGC Standards grows in the US so must the US Trade Compliance team. To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each of the following essential functions satisfactorily:

    • Read, interpret and apply US import and export regulations.
    • Classify all imported parts per import regulations.
    • Recognize chemical structures to enable tariff code assignment and controlled drug status.
    • Report to US government agencies that data required per US federal regulations.
    • Facilitate movement of product to and from US from and to international suppliers and customers.

    Qualifications

    Roles and Responsibilities

    • Knowing and applying regulations (FDA, EPA, USDA, DEA, NRC, CBP and BIS) for importing into and exporting out of the US and keeping up-to-date with changes.
    • Classifying products per US regulations for proper import and export and maintaining Compliance database for classifications
    • Defining documentation needed for proper import and export.
    • Completing required reporting to US authorities as appropriate.
    • Maintaining applicable federal and state registrations and permits for import and export.
    • Advising customer support and coordinators in the processing of controlled substance orders and permit requirements
    • Supporting the compliance coordinators with import clearance.
    • Maintaining a continuous process improvement mindset.
    • Maintaining SOPs for US compliance activities
    • Exemplifying the LGC core values on a day to day basis
    • And other duties as assigned by management.

    Education/Experience/Licenses/Certifications

    • Minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree in related field; preferably Chemistry
    • Background in organic chemistry required
    • Excellent attention to detail
    • Self-motivated individual contributor and able to work with a team
    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
    • Under general direction, able to work from policies and general objectives with little functional guidance.
    • Uphold company values

    Preferred

    • Master’s Degree in related field such as Chemistry or Biology
    • 3-5 years directly related experience strongly preferred
