Computer Equipment Repairer installs, configures and repairs computer systems and related equipment at user's location. Provides ongoing support and preventative maintenance on an as needed basis. Being a Computer Equipment Repairer maintains an inventory of repair parts and documents status of repair orders. Areas of support typically include desktop/laptop computers, printers and other peripheral equipment, as well as basic software and networking support. Additionally, Computer Equipment Repairer may require an associate degree or equivalent. Typically reports to a supervisor or manager. The Computer Equipment Repairer works under moderate supervision. Gaining or has attained full proficiency in a specific area of discipline. To be a Computer Equipment Repairer typically requires 1-3 years of related experience, or may need 0 years of experience with additional specialized training and/or certification.     This position is based in East Lyme, Connecticut.

    This position pays between $40,000-$49,000 annually. Pay will be based on experience. 

    RESPONSIBILITIES:
    • Handles all incoming calls to the help desk via phone, email & walk-in
    • Monitor and follow up calls in help desk queue
    • Provide support for hardware/software issues over the phone and in person
    • Follow up to closed tickets to ensure customer satisfaction
    • Support and deploy various Operating Systems (Windows, Mac, Chromebook)
    • Provide resolution and assistance to standard supported applications: MS Office, Browser programs, Antivirus and other supported proprietary applications and systems
    • Document and escalate call tickets to related IT groups for further support

    QUALIFICATIONS:
    • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
    • Organization and time management skills
    • 1-2 years’ experience in hardware and software support
    • CompTIA A / CompTIA Network or equivalent experience preferred.
    • Familiarity with Microsoft Server and Active Directory
    • Experience with TCP/IP based networks
    • Excellent customer service skills
    • Strong knowledge of Windows operating systems: Windows 7 & 10
    • Ability to troubleshoot hardware and software problems.
    • Knowledgeable on software installations
    • Knowledge of the Internet, Microsoft Office, and G-Suite
