Computer Numeric Control Machine Programmer jobs in Duluth, MN
Computer Numeric Control Machine Programmer programs and sets up CNC milling, lathe, or other machinery according to blueprint specifications. Reads and interprets technical blueprints and design models and inputs the product design into the computer modeling software. Being a Computer Numeric Control Machine Programmer adjusts machine settings to the desired product specifications, and troubleshoots and maintains the machine. Utilizes G or M code and CAM software (MasterCAM,CAMWorks or others). Additionally, Computer Numeric Control Machine Programmer tests accuracy of settings and programs. May require a bachelor's degree in area of specialty. Typically reports to a supervisor or manager. To be a Computer Numeric Control Machine Programmer typically requires 0-2 years of related experience. Works on projects/matters of limited complexity in a support role. Work is closely managed. This position would be Monday - Friday AM.Essential Responsibilities include but are not limited to;
- Verifying machined parts against blueprints using a variety of measuring equipment such as micrometers, dial calipers, height gages and/or optical comparators.
- Interdepartmental communication
- Packaging parts for shipment
Desired Characteristics
- Able to perform mathematical calculation including decimals and fractions
- Experience using a variety of measuring equipment, such as those listed above.
- Experience in a CNC machining shop, or comparable field
- Ability to work in a fast paced environment, while following safe work practices.
- Ability to lift 60lbs on an occasional basis
