Computer Numeric Control Machine Programmer programs and sets up CNC milling, lathe, or other machinery according to blueprint specifications. Reads and interprets technical blueprints and design models and inputs the product design into the computer modeling software. Being a Computer Numeric Control Machine Programmer adjusts machine settings to the desired product specifications, and troubleshoots and maintains the machine. Utilizes G or M code and CAM software (MasterCAM,CAMWorks or others). Additionally, Computer Numeric Control Machine Programmer tests accuracy of settings and programs. May require a bachelor's degree in area of specialty. Typically reports to a supervisor or manager. To be a Computer Numeric Control Machine Programmer typically requires 0-2 years of related experience. Works on projects/matters of limited complexity in a support role. Work is closely managed. CNC Programmer/Setup Operator
Hours: 6:00am-2:30pm (8hr) Overtime as needed
Pay: 25 – 35/hr

This position is for a backup CNC programmer/setup operator. Focusing on editing programs and helping other operators with setups as needed.
Key Responsibilities
- Create/edit part programs using Mastercam
- Perform advanced level setup of machines
- Read and edit G and M code on haas machines
- Work with machinists during test run of program to ensure process is good
- Verify conformance of finished work piece to specifications using standard measuring tools
- Understand and comprehend all forms of technical documents including blueprints and drawings, written specifications, charts, tables, etc.
- Maintain a track record of high-quality work with low rework and scrap history.
- Maintain high efficiencies and run rates for given machine.
- Work safely and as part of a high performing team.
- Perform other duties as assigned
- Basic machine maintenance
- Conformance to FOD policy
- Document work completed and maintain accurate records
Requirements
- Works independently, follow instructions and demonstrates strong attention to detail
- Properly uses basic measuring tools (calipers, micrometer, indicators, etc.)
- Understanding of basic machine language (G and M codes)
- Strong communication skills
- Mechanically inclined, with good manual dexterity
- 2 years of CNC programming experience
Experience
- 5 axis operation/setup/programming a plus
- Experience working with low volume, high value parts
- Ability to fabricate fixtures, jigs or parts using machining equipment
- Bilingual a plus (Spanish)
