The computer operator will perform daily tasks in computer operations. These responsibilities include running scheduled and unscheduled batch jobs, monitoring of the AS400, company network, and job scheduler. This position is responsible for preparing backup media for offsite storage.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Monitor and control computer systems and networks to ensure they function efficiently
- Perform routine maintenance tasks, such as updating software and running diagnostics
- Troubleshoot hardware and software issues and provide technical support to end users
- Manage backups and data storage systems to ensure data integrity and availability
- Coordinate with IT teams to implement system upgrades and enhancements
- Maintain documentation of system configurations, procedures, and troubleshooting steps
Skills:
- Computer literacy with proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
- Excellent communication and customer service skills
- Ability to work independently and in a team environment
- Knowledge of basic networking concepts and protocols
- Familiarity with operating systems such as Windows or Linux
