Computer Operations Manager is responsible for the efficient and effective management of an organization's computer operations. Implements department policies and procedures to effectively operate and maintain computer systems and peripherals. Being a Computer Operations Manager manages the operation of information system equipment including scheduling workflow, maintenance, and capacity plans. Continuously monitors the efficacy of computer operations, backup processes, system monitors, and server availability to ensure operation goals are met. Additionally, Computer Operations Manager researches and evaluates potential equipment upgrades to improve the capabilities of computer operations. Ensures computer operations activities meet pre-established production targets and maintain operating budgets. Requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a director. The Computer Operations Manager manages subordinate staff in the day-to-day performance of their jobs. True first level manager. This individual serves as the senior program manager of grant-funded projects. This role will oversee large, integrated programs consisting of a set of interconnected component projects, and/or a group of associated, but separate, projects. Leads internal and external teams of complex programs to ensure timely, accurate and cost-effective delivery of initiatives to accomplish strategic company goals. Monitors work scope, timeline and budgets and provides feedback to project teams as needed for successful completion. Leadership position that partners with senior leadership to develop comprehensive plans to deliver solutions related to federal grants. The programs administered will encompass multiple projects and are focused on an associated set of complementary objectives within an overall mission of delivering scope of federal grants. Projects will be primarily grant funded, and as such the Director will maintain responsibility for appropriate use of programmatic funds within the parameters of the grant(s). Works with little direction. Understands the business consequences of their actions around conflicting priorities, cost management, capital efficiency, etc. Goals are generally communicated in "solution" terms.

Minimum QualificationsBachelor’s degree in business, Engineering, Project Management, or another technical field required. Equivalent education, experience and training may be substituted for the degree requirement plus (10) years of relevant experience. Equivalent functional experience may be considered. Any combination of relevant education, experience, and training may be considered as a substitution for the experience requirement. Demonstrated proficiency working with Microsoft Office Suite, to include Word, Excel, Access, Outlook, and PowerPoint.Preferred: Current PMP or PgMP certification or ability to gain certification within first year of hire.Preferred: Project experience managing telecommunications field/construction support with progressively responsible business level planning or operations experience demonstrating proficiency in design, implementation, and program management. Experience with subsea fiber optic cable systems a plus.
