  • JOB SUMMARY
    The Computer Store Lead assists store management in proper store operation by performing assigned tasks and providing leadership to assigned store personnel of retail store engages in selling specific, related, or general lines of merchandise by performing the following duties personally or through subordinate personnel. Must adhere to all Goodwill Industries of Lane and South Coast Counties rules, policies and safety procedures.

    ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Assists store management with store operations including supervision of employees engaged in sales work, taking of inventories, reconciling cash with sales receipts, keeping operating records, and preparing daily record of transactions.
    • Follows all customer service guidelines; strives to provide exceptional customer service to all customers, donors and employees at all times.
    • Handles customer/donor complaints appropriately.
    • Answers customer’s questions concerning location, price and use of merchandise.
    • Trains staff to meet agency expectations.
    • Assist in maintenance of store records.
    • Meet and exceed Mystery Shopper goal by 93% or higher.
    • Coordinates with production to maintain adequate supplies to meet store needs.
    • May plan and prepare work schedules and assign employees to perform specific duties.
    • Perform store opening and closing procedures following defined procedures, as assigned.
    • Maintains adequate supplies to meet store needs. Orders merchandise or prepares requisitions to replenish merchandise on hand as assigned.
    • Ensures compliance of employees with established security, sales, and recordkeeping procedures and practices. Follows and enforces all policies, procedures, and work rules.
    • Maintains safe working conditions and properly trains employees to perform tasks in a safe manner using established safety program. Follows and promotes all safety standards. Practices and trains safe lifting techniques.
    • Maintain production areas to ensure ease of operations.
    • Ensure that open communication exists at all levels in the store.
    • Perform other duties in the production and retail area, as assigned.

    JOB EXPECTATIONS

    • Maintain well-groomed appearance and acceptable dress in compliance with GILSCC’s dress guidelines. (See Handbook Policy 172)
    • Strives to meet all assigned goals. Ensures high standards are met for both customer and donor service.
    • Reports for scheduled work regularly and on time. Notifies Assistant Manager as soon as possible regarding the need and expected duration of any absence.
    • Ensure compliance with all company policies, CARF standards and safety and security regulations.
    • Carries out responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies and applicable laws.
    • Must be able to function independently and as part of a team.
    • Must be at least 18 years of age.
    • Must not present a direct threat to the safety and health of self, others or to property.
    • No record or disclosure of criminal conviction that indicates a tendency toward theft, violence, dishonesty, deceit, drug manufacture or sale, moral turpitude, or predatory behavior.
    • Must provide identification and eligibility to work in the United States of America.
    • Must pass drug-screening test.
    • Must be able communicate effectively with co-workers and customers.
    • Must exercise good judgment.
    • Work under pressure and meet deadlines.
    • Be flexible in work assignment to accommodate changing production demands.
    • Must have sufficient command of the English language to communicate with customers, co-workers and supervisors.
    • Requires a high level of adaptability and flexibility.
    • Must be able to perform essential functions of the Computer Store Lead’s job description with or without accommodation.

    EXPERIENCE
    Minimum of six months’ related experience.

    EDUCATION
    No minimum education requirement.

    CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS
    CPR certification or ability to become CPR certified.

    WORK ENVIRONMENT
    Limited hazards due to lifting, pulling, and pushing merchandise by self or others. Work environments usually hectic (fast paced) with frequent short deadlines and regular instances of critical or unusual situations. Field of work includes office, production area, and store showroom and surrounding grounds. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.

    Must be available during store hours, including weekends, evenings, and some holidays.
