Family Concierge (www.instagram.com/familyconciergetm) is seeking experienced academic and test prep Tutors to join our network of exceptional partners.

This opportunity is ideal for college students, teachers, and other education-focused professionals dedicated to a high standard of excellence and who have experience working with high-achieving individuals.

The ideal candidate should have at least two years’ experience as a tutor. Experience as a teacher or other school-based roles will also be considered. A successful tutor is a master in their subject area and is proficient in explaining complex concepts to the students positively and effectively.

We are currently prioritizing hiring tutors specializing in the following content areas: Math, Science, English, SAT/ACT Prep, Spanish, French, AP Exam Prep, New York State Regents Exam Prep

We are currently prioritizing hiring Test Prep tutors specializing in the following standardized tests: SAT, ACT, NYS Regents Exams, AP Exams, GMAT, GRE, LSAT, MCAT

Typical responsibilities include:

• Remaining up to date with the school curriculum and subject-specific content
• Maintaining communication with parents to update them on the student's progress.
• Contributes to student learning, growth, and advancement.
• Demonstrates academic competence in subject area(s) and ability to build a curriculum.
• Maintains a growth mindset toward student learning and teaching practice.
• Designs and facilitates differentiated and personalized learning goals and activities that follow a coherent sequence, are aligned to instructional goals, and engage students in high-level cognitive activity.
• Assess the progress of assigned students to ensure effective processes
• Plan creative lessons to engage and educate students
• Promote high standards for academic success and behavior and continually encourage students to meet them
• Create a professional and welcoming environment by modeling respect for students’ diverse cultures, language skills, and experiences
• Recognize the primary role of helping students become more confident, more successful, self-directed learners
• Be direct and kind with students at the same time
• Assisting students with homework, projects, test preparation, papers, research, and other academic tasks
• Working with students to help them understand key concepts, especially those learned in the classroom
• Teaching skills to improve academic performance, including study strategies, note-taking skills, and approaches to answering test questions
• Conducting practice tests to track progress, identify areas of improvement, and help set goals for exam preparation
• Diagnosing student needs through active listening techniques and questioning strategies
• Recognizing different learning styles and student preferences
• Designing differentiated learning goals

Our Tutor Partners Have:

• A minimum of two years’ experience as a classroom teacher/tutor OR experience as a collegiate teaching assistant OR demonstrated high-level proficiency in a specialized content area such as math, science, English or standardized testing
