Overview:
We are seeking a skilled Cabinet Finisher with a minimum of 5 years of experience to join our team. As a Cabinet Finisher, you will be responsible for applying finishes to cabinets and ensuring the highest quality craftsmanship. This is a hands-on role that requires attention to detail and proficiency in various finishing techniques.

Objectives:

1. Become an integral part of our custom cabinet shop.

2. Work as a team to accomplish the shop's goals for production quality, accuracy and delivery dates. Reports directly to the Shop Foreman.

3. Perform cabinet prep and finishing at a superior level with minimal direct supervision.

4. Perform and work safely and follow all Company rules and procedures.

5. Maintain Platt Standards of conduct as set forth in the employee handbook and help maintain a positive morale in the shop.

Position Requirements:

1. Five years minimum experience.

2. Be detail oriented, highly organized, and process oriented.

3. Be a self-starter; have initiative to take on new work/tasks.

4. Be able to complete repetitive tasks for long periods while maintaining quality standard.

5. Be able to read blueprints for information on prep and finishing of work pieces.

6. Be able to prepare high quality custom cabinetry for finish in a timely fashion. Be familiar with staining, painting, color matching and glazing at a semi-production pace.

7. Be able to set up and use all equipment and machines safely and efficiently. Be able to do minor repairs and maintenance of equipment and machines.

8. Be attuned to the shop's quality standards and confident and willing to stop a sub-standard piece in production and bring attention to it.

9. Be responsible for the safe storage of flammable chemicals, products, and finishes that are used in the shop.

10. Be able to tally and track materials used and record as needed.

11. Be able to perform physically demanding work on a consistent basis, including lifting 100 pounds.

Position Responsibilities:

• Able to finish face-frames, doors, drawers, shelves, glass doors, window sash, curved and elliptical work, standing and running trim, and specialties.

• Able to sand and prep cabinetry and millwork as needed prior to finishing.

• Safe use of all machines, equipment, and products.

• Be a self-starter and be able to prep and complete work independently.

• General knowledge of wood species and wood movement.

• Maintain a clean work area, a clean spray room, and shop at all times.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $30.00 - $35.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week
